Tablet UI for Android 4.3 in Nook HD+ ROM
I don't know if it's considered bad forum manners to recommend that users look outside the xda forums for solutions and if it is I apologize. but recently I have noticed comments in xda Nook HD/HD+ threads asking about the availability of the Tablet UI function as a built-in capability in any of the HD/HD+ 4.3 ROMs. The responses to these questions are usually that there is no plan to add this feature into the ROM and that the best way to get the Tablet UI is to install the separate zip that patches this function into the tablet after the ROM in question has been installed. I have been using a couple of 4.3 EMMC ROMs that include the Tablet UI as a built-in function in my Nook HD+ and my Nook Tablet. These ROMs were compiled by iamafanof and can be found on his wordpress page. I have been using both ROMs for a while now and have experienced no issues while using either of them. The Tablet UI function works perfectly as far as I can tell and includes customization in the form of scalable font sizes and different colors and allowing the positions of the navigation buttons and the status indicators to be flipped. The overall ROM performance, as was the case for earlier 4.1 and 4,2 ROMs from iamafanof, is very reliable - no unexpected reboots or momentary black screens like I and many others have experienced with other ROMs. For anyone who really wants the Tablet UI and can't find it in other ROMs these might be worth a look and a try. Again, it I have violated any forum rules by recommending this solution I apologize.
