Mesmerize vs. Verizon Samsung Fascinate

I have a question, I'm trying to help a friend who had a Mesmerize and it seems to be the exact phone as the Verizon Samsung Fascinate. If it is are the ROMS compatible?

I did a quick search of both forums but never found anything.

They are the exact same phone SCH-i500. The ROMs require a small bit of manipulation since they are on different carriers to work.

The hardware is the same, but you're going to want to use Mezmerize specific ROMs for his phone, otherwise things like MMS and data may not work properly. Go HERE and take a look around...

There are some really good ICS ROMs available now.

I have a mesmerize and flashed it to pageplus which is verizon, i used qpst to edit m.ip and ppp settings but after phone reboots it reverts back to uscc settings.

So i put the facsinate AOKP build 38 onto the mes hoping that would fix the problem, only thing that did was turn the 1x icon into 3g icon but it turns off and randomly comes on for a split second and is never usable.

So now im thinking maybe if i odin back to stock using fascinate stock GB files that might work. i really want to get pageplus 3g working on my mes.

I have a mez and personally, I like to flash facinate roms and then edit the APN's

They always seem to run better and I get better reception....

Have you tried editing the APN?
