So it's the carriers that decide launch dates and availability; not Samsung and BB. The carriers pay a hefty commission on both the phone and service plans upfront to third party resellers like BB. That's why AT&T has 2,200 corporate stores selling devices. It would be odd that they would allow a highly anticipated device to be sold by resellers before they start selling them themselves. And the date on BB's website, at least for AT&T, is now September 27th. If that's true, I'd imagine AT&T will probably start shipping/selling on that date too even though their website still shows shipping 10/1.
All just my opinion of course.
I spoke with a Verizon Rep a few days ago and she informed me that all of their newer 4G phones are unlocked. I will be testing this as soon as I get my Note 3. One roommate has AT&T, another T-Mobile and the last has StraightTalk.
It's supposed to be a global phone (CDMA/GSM/HSPA) so in theory it should work with all carriers.
