Battery life in almost all of the roms is just horrible. I was so disappointed with the roms here that I started spending more time on my Sammy note 8" and was contemplating changing my phone. I installed DNA-Super-Digital-2.07.605.1 710RD-v.1.0 as a last effort at using my phone at work rather than using my tablet as a phone. It's not one of those fancy roms, but trust me it's stable, gives the best performance and with awesome battery life. I don't know if it'll improve data speeds but I get constant 4G speeds all the time. Thanks MicroMod777 for this simple and stable rom
Coming from a Razr Maxx (3300 mAh), I feel extra sensitive to battery life between ROMs on the DNA(2050 mAh). But my experience had been quite opposite from yours...I get much better battery life on most CM-based roms when compared with Sense roms. I have the best luck with Slim rom, and Carbon - although carbon isn't actively built anymore. But Viper 2.0 (Sense 5) has been pretty impressive as well.
It's completely a personal choice. Do a full backup, flash an AOSP, back it up, try a Sense rom, rinse and repeat. New roms and rom updates are coming all the time.
