Tried to do it using the instructions, but I'm still stuck on the CyanogenMod boot splash. Any ideas how to remedy this?

No installation instructions? well here they are.

by the way awesome Splash screen and bootanimation.

Installation:

1. Copy bootanimation.zip to the root of your SD Card

2. Move it to /data/local/ or /system/media/ and replace existing one using root explorer.

NOTE: Desire/Sense base phones push bootanimation.zip to /system/customize/resource/

Reboot and Enjoy!

If i check those folders on my galaxy s i cant find a bootanimation data in those folders so how can i replace those.
I found a bootanimation data in system/bin.
so where to navigate for sure pls?

Running CM7 on my HTC Legend (so, bootanimation should be in /system/media).

I can't get the copy of this to work with Root Explorer.
Is there a security setting I'm missing?

You may have to S-Off to be able to write to the system partition. I'm not sure about that phone.

If you're having trouble run the boot animation utility that was mentioned in the xda article. I'll update the first post with a link.

Not bad. I think XDA's news thread overhyped it. Not knocking it at all. Good work, but 'mind bending' might be a little much.

Still, like I said, good work.

Could you make the logo spinning faster ?

this should spin twice faster than before, u can tune it easily: just modify in the desc.txt file u found in the archive, 60p is this speed (60 fps), 30p is my first speed. just tune it as u prefere..

After seeing it on my black Mytouch Slide... I wish I had the white one instead <_>

I think it's kind of Aperture looking, yeah?

Works on my G2x but you can hear the T-mobile jingle during. Any way to turn that off?

Looking back, I'm not pleased with the original boot animation.

Using the spinning animation idea, I made this quickly in Photoshop:
bootanimation.gif

If anyone wants it just post here, but I'm not pleased with this one either.
I also don't have a phone to test with :( So I'm not sure how it looks on a device. The spinning animation loops forever :)
