How to get 4.2.2 when rooted but stock (from 4.1.1)
I am sorry as this is commented on 100's of times & I have read & read but I just keep going round in circles.
A while ago I rooted my HTC One X (Can't remember exact method as some worked & some did not)
Did not change ROM so should be/is stock.

I have 4.1.1 Vodafone VODAP001 uk
I would like to upgrade to 4.2.2
Preferably with root but I think now just get back to full stock & allow OTA & root again at a later date.
Ideally user Super SU etc to temp root & OTA.
OTA update fails Unknown Volume For Path ... - I expected this but have since tried with SuperSU & super user with temp unroot but still no luck.
Always full factory/dalvic wipe etc.
I even tried CM10.1 but seemed to install but got stuck once rebooted, Can't remember error but on intitial setup (Language choice behind error window) just allows Click OK constantly. I am surprised this has not worked as seems to have installed & boots OK. I would have thought if down to boot.img or other base issues would not have got this far. Auto installed from CWM & from zip on SD.
Few thing I perhaps don't understand
I am not sure I have stock copies of boot.img or the recovery as when installing ROOT to begin with these things have changed before any chance of a nandroid backup.
I assume all my problems are due to boot.img &/or recovery OR just relocking the bootloader or combination of all.
I am reluctant to use FASTBOOT & re-lock and maybe find I still can't upgrade and then find myself with a non-rooted phone which still won't OTA and perhaps harder to install a custom ROM (If all else failed)
The procedures to do some of these things are huge and so many comments afterwards of people having problems once they have done them.
With root but stock ROM what is the easiest way I might get to 4.2.2
Can I just get any'ish boot.img & recovery & try, do I need to lock the bootloader,
Could any of the temp root methods work.
Is there a risk that I would not be able to get back to my nandroid backups to recover if it goes wrong
(I know there is always a risk of bricking but is it quite likely here)
MaximusHD seems complicated also and with some issues, Android Revolution HD seems widely accepted but then not for use on any VODAP001 or any other tied phones, which must be a majority?
I have rooted & ROM's HTC desires & Desire HD and messed around a lot with these over teh years & never had any problems or lack of understanding (but that was a while back)
