seems mine had gotten worse and had to exchange it. it wouldn't even respond unless i pressed extremely hard on it. the down worked fine.

sadly #2 is just as bad and this one has worse bleed as i can see it a 15% brightness with normal usage. also on dock #2 as the first one i had kept draining even when not docked (down to 0 overnight with no use at all - i had the same problems with a tf101 dock).

seems i'm just having bad luck with asus tablets. i've bought 3 samsung tablets and luckily had 3 good ones (one used). with asus i'm on #9 with none worth parting $500 for.

congrats to you guys for getting good ones, but seems asus just doesn't like me.

DONATE TO ME
My physical buttons seem to be okay/clicky. I see to have a different issue with the volume up, it creaks quite a bit after pressing down....

Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda premium

Default Volume rocker becomes nearly unusable

I've been looking at the Infinity at my local Bestbuy, and the rocker is completely limp, loose and has no tactile feedback whatsoever. When pressed, the volume goes down by multiple steps because it is inevitably depressed for too long. What a piece of junk!

Why can't anyone come close to the iPad at even the same price? Is Apple selling below cost? I really want Android, but there isn't even one decent tablet option.

No, Crapple isn't selling below cost. And those things are made in Malaysia, which is no better than Taiwan or PRC in assembling electronics (unlike Korea or Japan, which rock). But, Apple generally cares whether bad QC gives their brand a black eye. Asus doesn't, and I can attest to this from personal experience all the way back to leaky capacitors on a mobo in 2004.

Asus has great, often very innovative ideas, but they are just sloppy as hell at execution. The Asus motto appears to be "good enough," rather than "as good as we can."
