[Q] Help for Mac OS X Users [Forum Suggestions]
Moderators, would you please consider putting a folder for all Mac OS X related questions and answers regarding the rooting, flashing and installing of custom ROMs on Androids? As it is, I did a search for Mac OS X related questions, and these threads are all over the place instead of being in one, central repository.
Also, to satisfy the requirement for at least 10 posts before I can achieve "full personhood" on these forums, I have resorted to writing tutorials for Mac Users who are new to Android and who wish to customize and root their phones. But I have no idea if the people for whom I will write these tutorials actually will find them as they are buried knee deep in other folders on this forum.
Also, we need a current glossary of terms for Mac users, and it needs to be "pinned" so that it appears at the top of the folder for Mac OS X Users. I will try to write one. I came across one on the web, but I can't find it now. But just for your information, it is hard enough to for folks to learn to root, flash recoveries and install custom ROM's on their phones without having to learn a whole new vocabulary! For instance, no one on a Mac "flashes" software. We call it "installing" software. Likewise, no one on a Mac uses the term, "RUU". It is simply a "firmware update for your phone." And likewise, we don't have an alphabet soup of drives either, so telling us to place the folder that contains our downloaded adb and the fastboot files on our "C" directory makes no sense to us! Instead, we need to be instructed to install these files in a folder called "Android" in our home directories. And the terminal commands for Macs vs. PC's are different as well, and so the instructions need to be rewritten to take these differences into account.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter!
