Omg the damned iPad keyboard just keeps comming and going on this site
Anyway, I changed it using a build.prop editor and you need root to do this. This tricks Android into thinking that you have a larger screen.
The effects are that you get more contacts in the contact list, more space for your notifications because most things are smaller and more news in news apps. The home screen looks exactly the same and so does the dialer. There are some minor design glitches here and there, but mostly its not like on Samsung phones where things get smaller and kling to the top left corner.
If you want to try it out and you have root, go here:

The ONE thing i could not deal with Samsung was the "blowed up fonts"..Even with the ability to change from "tiny to HUGE", and NOW with 1920x1080 res, it STILL has that issue... HATED That!! I noticed on the Note 3 its more of the same.. You only can see like 3 or 4 lines in the notifications due to this issue..Why??!
I have no idea what goes on in Samsungs touchwiz department. Someone there must really love gingerbread and/or have really bad taste.
