Think i may have had similar troubles and may have to try this!! How do i clear the efs file in Odin though (not that i've had chance to look yet)
Iím not a complete noob but understand only a small part of rooting and swapping romsÖ. I have an I9300 Galaxy S3 being used on Three network (UK).
I have previously rooted the phone then decided to return it to stock (and also used triangle away) and everything was running fine.
A couple of weeks ago, I downloaded what was said to be BBM, from the googleís very own play store (no Iím not a spotty teenager or gangbanger looking to organise riots, I just wanted to know what the hype was about!!). Anyway, it turns out that it wasnít BBM at all and it install some dodgy search icon on my homescreen that didnít show up in the app drawer.
I therefore did a factory reset through the settings on the phone (not recovery) and from then on the phone was acting up. It became quite laggy too. Then last weekend facebook, twitter, vine and instagram all signed out by themselves and all of my joined contacts decided to ďun-joinĒ themselves. I therefore decided to root the phone again and reflash with the stock (please donít judge but I actually donít mind touchwiz!).
So, the first thing I tried a samsung tool kit taken from an article on GizmodoUK. Managed to root the phone okay and install a stock rom. Slight problem in that there was no mobile phone signal. The said emergency calls only. So I unistalled the Samsung drivers and re-installed them, tried a different USB port and rooted again trying CM 10.1. Still emergency calls only. Next step was to track down radios to flash. Found a few on XDA (thanks for that by the way!) but still emergency calls only. I then tried a stock Three rom (4.1.1 rather than 4.1.2), still no calls. Final straw last night was a standard unlocked stock rom specifically for UK. Still no bleeding calls!!!!
