I got bootloop too when updated to 1.06, reinstalled again and then wipe before reboot, everything fine now.
Why would we need to wipe if we install something new? There's nothing to wipe? I have done with my last phone (Galaxy S2) for about 500-600 flashes and never ever i need to wipe after flashing any stuff, because nothing is generated (i mean cache and dalvik and everything) (?!)... As I saw bigup7 didn't wipe...

4. add 1.0.1 and 1.0.6 to queue to flash
6. once flashed reboot (i didnt wipe caches here)
takes about 2-3 mins to boot
Thanks man, I'll try like you did.
