Hi Guys,
Did anyone find a way to root this tab without increase flash binary counter?
Don't want to avoid warranty...
Hi Guys,
Thanks tapan15in for giving us the the detailed Guide for CWM flash and Rootin GT-P3100
here is my 2 paise(aka 2cent) Guide for rooting the GT-P3100 with latest ROM and CWM
Step -1: :cyclops: Download the latest Android 4.0.4 ROM[P3100DDBLF2] from SamFirmware.com
[Good if u register]P3100DDBLF2.
Step 0: Download ODIN 1.85 and cwm recovery and root flash (attached)
ODIN N CWM
Step 1: Copy the attached zip file to external microsd card and load it into your device (Keep in mind external SD not internal memory)
Now Boot your Device in Download Mode and Flash The P3100DDBLF2 ROM using ODIN (for instructions on ODIN read first POST)
Step 2: Once the New ROM(Andoid 4.0.4) is Installed and rebooted... boot your device again into Download Mode. Now in this time use ODIN to flash the downloaded CWM Recovery(recovery.tar.md5) (IN PDA)
Step 3: Now Boot your Device to Recovery:fingers-crossed: CWM will be loaded. In CWM select install zip from sdcard --> select the copied zip file --> reboot
STEP 4: ENJOY your ROOTED Android 4.0.4 Device
P.S: Since CWM is flashed Software Update though downloads any new update but will fail to install...
FIX: Look for Updated ROM from samfirmware.com regularly and flash it in ODIN. Now ROM flashes will only update the existing installation (Ain't NO affects)
Thanks, I managed to root my P3100 at last after several previous attempt failed (due to update via OTA to 4.0.4 prior installing CWM Recovery).
I am also interested in finding a way to reset flash binary counter but it seams nobody cares around here.

I think we willl never get usb jig support and triangleaway support, so forget itno offense but there are no solution for it so far, not that nobody care... we have no usb jig support, no triangleaway support(yet)... only mobile odin is on the way, i know the app cannot reset binary counter but atleast it won't increase flash binary counter...

What I am trying to find is a way of only rooting and then I can use mobile Odin (Chainfire already developing for GT-P31XX) to flash custom kernels without increase flash binary counter.
Things that already exists for:
- Galaxy SII -> http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
- Galaxy Note -> http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1329360
But I am not a developer... :crying:
How can we unroot our device gt-p3100?

Guys, I received my 3113 yesterday and attemped to Root?Flash CWM this morning. I went step by step even making sure I downloaded the correct CWM for 4.4. I was able to flash CWM, ran the update file to root and it all went perfectly until I rebooted the tablet. I am now stuck in a bootloop but can get into CWM and the download area on the tablet. I tried to do a CWM backup but there was an issue backing up data. The backup did finish just the data issue. I don't know what to do or try next! Any ideas as Im totally lost...
I also tried a factory reset from CWM but still getting the bootloop.
Hi guys, I'm about to do this on my nieces old tab 2. I'm going to root and then install Lineage 14.1, what is the best/preferred method of rooting at this point?
It's the Tab 2 3110 Wi-Fi model, I'm a bit confused, is Odin still the method used to install TWRP 3.2.2.0?
