Try Diffrent zImages....

ok cool, any ideas how to get back to the main screen when you are in an app? right now I am in Development settings...

A.t.m soft-reset is the only way with the latest zImage. Ppl are tying to map the d-pad midle key as a back key. Hope this will be included in new zImage.

I'm not sure if this thread is intended for folks to chime in w/their success/trouble or not but FWIW... I can't get this working yet... but I'm excited! My phone freezes on looking for network connection and/or after the "Booting Linux" progress bar reaches 100%.
  • haret.exe - 0.5.1
  • zImage - 5/26/2008
  • initrd-android - filesize 20,313 KB (version unknown)
  • Dutty Version: WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06 (I'll try the dutty rom mentioned in the initial post when I get time.)

Thanks for the links/info/install-notes btw!

  • FYI - I'm using {Ruu_Signed_Duttys_WM6.1_5.2.19700_Hybrid V2_1_65.14.06[CubeV2]} and haven't been able to get it working yet. I'll try the dutty rom mentioned in the initial post when I get time.

1. You need a lot of pations.
2. You need a lot of pations. I have also the same ROM on one of my 3 devieces. And it booted 1 out of 20 tries.....
3. The ROM has many bugs but it's a good ROM for Android testing.

Good luck :)

No. Bfore this one I had the 16 April rom. And it booted sometimes. 0.5.1 is the official version. But there are also 2 new beta's. I worked with the beta's. But with dutty's Diamond rom. No new haret is needed.

There is no beta in the main page. Although in the folder http://www.handhelds.org/~koconnor/haret/ there are several. Do you know which is the good beta there? The most recent is the haret-20080510.exe.

I love you XMOO :p, this is exactly what I was talking about, and very well laid out too.

I have been using dutty's latest rom (the beta test rom) and have had the most success with booting android. But I cannot say which version of what that I have because it is soo mixed up just trying to get it to work.

I can confirm that booting the rom IS possible using the following:

Diamond v4 Rom.

I'm using out of the box settings (not replacing the Zimage or the haret version).
Just install the CAB and you're good to go.

I simply love this interface, it works smooth and fast.
If i can be of any service, please let me know.

With kind regards,
Thijs

Is anyone having problems charging on Kaiser? I'm was using the latest basefiles and system-xrom1.4r3.sqsh so I switched to the Google-Ion-2009-09-12 bundle both from vogue-android on google code with fresh data.img, same problem. Charging will work for the first few hours and then without any changes, it will stop. It will charge for like 30 seconds and stop charging and the battery icon will go back to normal and in "battery status" it shows "not charging". A regular soft reboot will not fix this for some reason. Charges just fine in windows mobile, but to use android I have to reboot and charge in wm6 and when fully charged switch back to android. Anyone experienced this?

    Nice, I got it working on L26 V4 worked 1st time :)

Still a bit buggy of course but getting there

    is l26 an lg device?

I will provide a zImage with our latest changes from the linuxtogo git later this day.

I will also upload a console image for testing purpose later (you can read the AT data from the arm9 in it. Just create a device node using mknod dev/smd0 254 2 and use cat /dev/smd0 to read from it. you will see incoming calls, sms etc.)
This is one of the current mayor problems: We can read from the AT buffer but not write to it which is essential for any phone operations i.e. writing sms, making phone calls but also for using the gps. The gps deveice in kaiser is controlled also with AT send buffer. So once we hve it working we only need the msm_proc_comm work to make calls on the kaiser! If somebody knows what I'm talking about please have a look in arch/arm/mach-msm/smd-kaiser.c

    Any hints/improvements appreaciated
