i have a android 1.6 cupcake version. will these be working fine if i upgrade it from my current version? thanks.

This installation erases the data from the phone. Remember to flash the kernel etc... All the instructions are on the first post. If you see you need to update to last SE firmware through PC Companion (2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware). See the requirements list and you are good to go.

he barely even used his phone. In fact I think it was in aeroplane mode a lot and thw screen on time is tiny.

Yeah m8. But Aeroplane mode was only for the night and 2 calls per a day not more. 6 quick sms per a day. Display in UB mode. 3G disable.
Dont get me wrong x10man but U can push Your battery for the limit somethimes ;)

Ya this kind of batt stat is very misleading. It depend on how often u use ur phone. My display shows that I am the on screen for 3 hours from 100% to 15%. With this I know if I wan drag for 2 day I need to use 1.5 hours per day.

Will you update you account name? :D

For me it starts getting a bit slow for all the stuff that I use and also I use the browser a lot and the little screen doesn't help. GPS/3G.. sometimes it is too much for a device like these and for all the new updates that are coming (Jelly Bean etc..)

But.. why the hell do you need a "smart"phone with Android for if thats all you do? Seems to me such a test is a waste of your time.
Simply buy an old SonyEricsson candybar phone. Can do even pretty good browsing. Will last 4 days easily.

I keep on making names relevant to what I use:/ and then realise I won't use that device forever lol. So probably not, I'll just look like an idiot:p

it's too small for me and the lag is sometimes too much. For me though my battery life is killer. 2.5 hours?! It's a joke tbh.

I'm still extremely grateful for people like owain94, slade87, D4, paul-xxx and nAa for making this phone what it is. You've done an amazing job and we all love you for it. Thank you devs.

The name is fine :)

I've tried to add now 256Mb of Swap and it is working fine. Not sure if it is too much since I wasn't much into Swap. This device is surely for messaging and have the some cool Android features and is doing fine with all the new ROMS. As for the battery the max I've got with this ROM was 3 days but without doing nothing to it. I think it was on 3G mode and had Airplane mode activated at night only. Now moderate usage (some SMS and few calls) can go up to 2 days and with heavy data connection and GPS 1 day max or have to recharge as I get home :p

EDIT: The next device I was hopping to get was a Galaxy Nexus but until I buy a new one maybe another will come out so... :p I want a pure Google device because of the direct support they get and the community is also big on those phones.

My horrific battery is on ICS not GB so yeah... it's always been bad but it used to be 8 hours. Not 2.5... and I find swap is great. I use 512MB and I love it. Makes everything more responsive and on ICS makes multitasking soooo much better!

Yes. I've tried the ICS Rom but it was a bit unstable so decided to roll back to CM7. Still... many improvements have been made since the first time I installed ICS (which was the first MiniCM9 version by nAa).

Now the next thing for this ROM should be the final CM7.2 or any future CM7 updates that the Cyanogen Team make but now they are focusing on CM10

    Requirements:

    • Instructions:
      • Download the MiniCM7-xxx.zip from the release link that follows
      • Backup your /data contents: contacts, apps, sms, etc. or backup via recovery
      • Move the MiniCM7-xxx.zip to the root folder of your sdcard. Download the suggested Google Apps for CM7 from here (check http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ if you want to experiment with other gapps versions)
      • Unlock your bootloader, if you haven't already. Check http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1254225 for a nice tutorial
      • Flash the nAa kernel using Flashtool. To to this:
        - Turn off your phone
        - Start the Flashtool\X10FlashTool.exe and select Flash. Then select the U20_nAaxxx kernel firmware (this flashes both the kernel.sin and the loader.sin)
        - Keep the back button pressed while connecting the usb cable. Flashtool should detect your phone and flash the kernel.
        - Once done, disconnect the usb cable and power on the phone.
      • Once the logo appears, press the back button repeatedly to enter CWM.
        - Select 'backup and restore -> Backup'
        - Select 'wipe data/factory reset' (RECOMMENDED)
        - Flash the MiniCM7-xxx.zip. To do this, Select 'install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard' and select the MiniCM7-xxx.zip
        - Flash gapps
      • Reboot (first boot will take ~2 mins)
      • Once your device has booted, you can navigate to CM Settings -> System -> Update notifications and select 'Register'. This way you can get update notifications on new versions of MiniCM7!
Please make sure you followed the above steps before reporting any issues, especially 'wipe data/factory reset'
