oh my you beat me to it,
i was thinking of making a live wallpaper that will act as a slideshow but your app performs what i wanted so...

Really like it, pretty much exactly what i've been looking for.
Can I make one suggestion? The option to randomise the pictures when switching or using the widget?
It appears to follow the order displayed when switching. I have quite a few pictures, but think I would eventually start to memorise the order. Plus it's a nice feeling picking up the phone without knowing which one's next. Or keep clicking the widget till I find a random one I like!

How about a URL?
I got the idea from the simple radar in my area, http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/lite/N0R/BMX_0.png (loop: http://www.srh.noaa.gov/ridge/lite/N0R/BMX_loop.gif )
I have Radar Wallpaper, which I can load when things get hairy around here, but I'm sure loading an image from a URL would be useful. Even better if it checks periodically and reloads the image when it has changed.

sorry guys, but implementing these (not sure if its even possible with live wallpapers) would affect battery life and i really want to avoid that :/

51I made this little app called Wallpaper Changer which comes with a widget to let you change your wallpaper with one click.
Simply add the wallpapers to a "rotation list" in the app and then you can rotate through your list with a single click on the widget. Additionally, you can also activate a timer which automatically changes your background image on a predefined time interval. You can also chose to enable the timer only when connected to an external power supply, though I haven't felt a significant battery drain with an interval of 30 mins yet.
If you don't use the timer, then there's no background service running or something, so it shouldn't affect your battery or performence in any way. Therefore it might take some seconds to actually change the wallpaper as the images are loaded only on demand.
