I recently purchased a Simple Touch with Glowlight from my local WalMart for $75 on clearance. I was very happy with it the first day I used it. Then yesterday (less than 24 hours after I bought it) a "hole" appeared in the light guide. I was very careful and kept the device in a cover when not in use. The device came with firmware version 1.2.1 installed, so I assume it is a recently manufactured device.
So, here is my question for Glowlight owners ...
Should I contact B&N about getting a replacement unit? Or should I just return it to WalMart and keep using an external light with my NST? I have six children in my home and will not be able to protect the screen from objects that might possibly damage it. My NST has had the same screen protector on for over a year with no scratches. Does the Glowlight's light guide screen protector really scratch that easily or did I just get a lemon? I do much of my reading in bed, so I would really like to keep the Glowlight, but I don't want to be replacing it 4 or 5 times during the warranty period.
