That's correct, he was generous enough to give me free hosting for awhile.

Tried to install NewSense, downloaded RC2 and tried installing with TWRP and says installed completed; but then TWRP say no OP system is installed; tried using CWM recovery as well and did the same thing; it acts as if it didnt install anything but yet confirms that it does

tried rc1 as well and said failed (didnt even attempt to install or nothing) - both zips downloaded completed and dont seem broken. Checked both with MD5 checker and matches... I dunno what's going on

I've never had an issue installing this. But, only did so on cwm. Probably one of the the older versions. 5.0.x something maybe?

That took care of the issue, no problems at all while installing with dreads. I figured at least CWM recovery would install ROM just fine only because everyone I talked to all used CWM and seemed most suitable ; but both CWM and TWRP installed the ROM within 20seconds and thought that was rather quick for a 220+MB ROM. I originally had dreads installed way long ago, but was told it wouldnt work with installing certain scripts while using jellybean, so thats when I made the switch. But anyways out with JB and in with GB. thanks so much

What ROM are you using; still newsense? Only guessing you have done some tweaks and mods yourself to maybe give it a more JB experience? IF so, ANY way of posting your ROM or what you have done?
thnx

I was using JellyBean for a couple months but just switched back to GB

I am just going to paste what I had to sent to #strapped365

The only issue I was experiencing with GB from FOREVER ago (roughly a year and a half) was the ghost voicemail notification (read in the OP it's fixed!!! :) ) and I read all posts on here trying different solutions and still kept getting it; called myself and left a message, tried youmail and the other voicemail app (ehh, wasnt a big fan of either), practically everything I read and still got it; and to NOT know when I got an actually voicemail due to it constantly saying I had 3 in the notification bar was enough for me and switched ROMs; I was running cyanogenmod 7.2 stable. I am just waiting until my time is up with sprint; I am grandfathered into the SERO plan from about a decade ago (maybe less) when it was posted on forums all over and got the 500minutes with EVERYTHING else included for free, with FIMF (1st incoming minute free)...but lately I am seeing different carriers such as TMo and I think verizon offering to upgrade your device twice a year, no ETF, and a couple others if I recall correctly that sprint does not offer. I have been with Sprint for a LONG time, ever since Nextel and just seem to have TOOO many problems with them including their crappy ass airave unit that is suppose to get better coverage (but get delayed text, sometimes cant even call out, I get "this call can not be completed" and does not work until I leave airave signal or put on airplane mode. Yes, I have the SERO account and pay about $55 /month for EVERYTHING, but what good is that when I dont have service and have to use a half broken airave unit that has been replaced 3 different times and sprint does NOT want to help out in anyway. I am not paying the ETF so I am just stuck; spoke with retentions in the past but I think since Im on a SERO plan, they tend to not be so nice to people on those plans.

Strapped365 also mentioned he dropped Sprint as well; I am slowly seeing a trend here; I am happy with what I pay WHEN my service works that is. I'd be DONE with Sprint had it not be for there ETF; still have until Jan 2014 and dont feel I should have to pay a prorated fee when my service only works half the time. Regardless of what I say to the customer service reps, they want to insist of me having service where I am located; sorry to say, but just because your stupid a$$ service application that sprint has "states" I am in an area where service is available, that doesn't mean I have service. I read somewhere on XDA that one could get out of their contract without paying ETF since sprint has stopped wiimax (only applicable to wiimax) which the shift is, but all the reps seem to be reading from a script and don't give a crap about their customers at all. I dont know what to do :(

newSENSE is great but im actually on newRUNNY at the moment. as for posting the ROM theres really no need. i use holo launcher for my home screen/launcher and remove the dock, glovebox to launch the few apps i use, the newRUNNY ICS theme i made in the themes section, and the rest is just little things like no frills cpu and other "normal" things most of us use. i use the normal lockscreens that come with newRUNNY such as the weather lockscreen. since i dont use sprint anymore ive also removed half of the icons from my status bar since theyre essentially worthless. clock/weather widget i use is beautiful widgets with an ics/jb themed skins. its nothing elegant but it works well.
as for quitting sprint, they tried to give me the run around too and i just said screw em and quit anyways, they can send me bills in the mail all they want, they arent worth my money and arent getting it.

Not sure how long you have left on your contract, but there are other ways to get out of it. Not sure about the shift, but on my gnex custom ROM there's a sprint diagnostics app you can use to flash a custom prl and roam on Verizon towers. Sprint will boot you and terminate the contract with no etf if you do it enough. Not that I would condone such a thing.;)

I thought that initially too. But, apparently this app needs to be installed in recovery via flashable zip. If you search the forums maybe you'll find something similar.

About the kernel... It is based off of htc's 2.6.35.10 kernel source. The clock tables, voltages and added governors are a combination of the 5 kernel developers I mention below. I also added v(r) i/o scheduler, thanks mdeejay from Team Virtuous.

This has been a long time coming. First I have to thank my wife and kids for being so patient while I stared at a computer screen. Endless thanks to one_love_420 and Dread 7us for all their hard work, knowledge, and patience. Huge thanks goes to Dodgejcr, for taking the time to teach me almost everything I know about kernels, answering my noobish questions :), and writing up some awesome tutorials located at his website http://dodgejcr.com. Tommy Tomatoe has been such a great help to all of us, we can't thank you enough. I have some more thanks to give to a few other people, in no particular order toastcfh, scaryghoul, mdeejay, dodgejcr, x99 (kernel sources to compare, and help trouble shooting), aamikam (a2sd trouble shooting), strapped365 (panorama camera), and htc (base kernel source). Last but not least, the whole Shift community, a.k.a. the best community on xda. I hope you enjoy this ROM as much as we did making it. If I forgot to thank anyone, please let me know and I'll add you. :)

Edit: Here is a link to custom skins for those that are interested... http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1048894
