Thanx m8 got Tapatalk to open fine but now fb opens via browser and not fb app...If I change defaults to fb, I lose Tapatalk...why won't gmail use the appropriate app for those urls....any workarounds does any one know??

Try a different browser?
Remember to clear defaults in the stock browser.

I would recommend

I freeze or remove the stock browser with titanium backup and use chrome(so handy to have it linked to my pc's chrome). That way whenever any app tryes to load a page up through the browser it goes straight to chrome no problems...

Trying dolphin - no flash with chrome. .

living with the fact android has limitations lol....

If I have a fb app then a url link in gmail like m.facebook.com should open in the app if it's installed.
Likewise, forum.xda.com should open in Tapatalk app
YouTube link in youtube app etc
Am I wrong or am I wrong??

That should be the case, although I think FB is a bit hit and miss.
Just noticed that you are opening most links from gmail.
Try clearing defaults in the gmail application. That may help.
As to flash its slowly dying and most of the browsers no longer support it. Even skyfire (which was optimised for video) has finally abandoned it. The only way round that is to find an old apk for your browser of choice and install that. Then never update.

Yeh...no option for defaults in gmail...I use Gmail for notifications mainly so having flash is handy, dolphin works gr8 so I'll stick with it....thanx for the help
