Default ics scheduled for late July

Well at least now I have a time frame for how long to not care.

That Site says the update is available for select devices in Canada. No one has found it yet?

DONATE TO ME
Please note that this is in no way an official statement. It is as official as the statement saying that it would be updated in Canada in late april.

So please take this as a possibility, not a "fact" nor a promise!

I had posted about that TELUS information in another thread a few days ago. TELUS has been maintaining that PDF for quite a while and I believe it originally said mid-June.

The distressing part of it is the fact that it says Samsung has yet to provide the software for TELUS to even begin their regression testing.

This suggests to me that Samsung is even further behind schedule on this than they have let on... and makes me wonder if there isn't some significant hardware issue that prevents some of the new camera frameworks in ICS from being implemented properly on the 10.1.

You could be correct.

However, I believe it has more to do with the recent release of the gtab2. People will be less likely to upgrade to a gtab2 if the gtab has ics.

The community might have skewed our faith in getting a working camera based on the reaction one gets if one asks if the camera works on any ics rom.

I still think that the GTab2 is not an upgrade... But Samsung needs to bring out something new, and hopes it creates the 'iSheeple' effect on Sammy users -NOT!

Everybody is waiting for the working camera under ICS, and until then quite a few people (and that includes me) will wait before jumping into a good and very enjoyable alternative ROM...
