1. The Kitkat update is rolling out now across Europe.
2. Not everybody gets it at the same time, that's how it works.
3. No you can't see when you are going to get it.
4. No you can't do something, so it comes out faster
5. There isn't any OTA download links for retail units.
6. If you want OTA download links for branded units, SEARCH.
7. Show some patience.

Now go watch this, because this is clearly needed in here, with a lot of new XDA / android users:

5. There is a link for the German Retail Moto G, link http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2594590.

The aim of this thread was to stop people asking the same questions over and over and to get them to use search. And to stop them posting things over and over.

It doesn't need cluttering up just because there may be a link to a download.

Have you seen the amount of duplicate posts and answers in the moto g forums due to lazy people not searching.

Yes i have and your post will not change this, some users don`t even read the last page of a thread. They post a question cause sometimes they`re too lazy or don`t want to spend time to look for an answer themselves

But if this thread had JUST the OP, then people *may* have read it and watched the video. As soon as it was cluttered with the second post they won't bother reading the first as you say.

actually you can do something, even without rooting your phone

-download the 4.4.2 update
-copy the archive onto your sd card (not in any subfolders)
-restart your phone and wait a moment
-a popup message will appear that there is a update available -> press copy
-then your phone will ask you, if you want to install the update, if not go to settings/about phone/system updates
-install the update

this worked for me and my german moto g

Hey man I'm from Chile too, does this solution worked?
I really don't understand the delay the companies are having to release the software, really I hate the process.
Anyways, did this worked?

I haven't tried this yet, Chilean companies suck, probably they are modyifing the ROM and adding their ads, applications and stuff like that :(
