While the phone is off hold down "Volume down key" and the "power button"

*use volume keys to go up or down
*fastboot is locked so there is no options available besides "fastboot reboot"
*boot into recovery "option"

Just thought I'd post for you all to know this.

Thank you. That seems to be the same on all the HTC's. I used that method on a MyTouch 3G

you should update the original post. either optical button or vol down to enter bootloader for one and...

once you are in bootloader do this.

-press vol down to hover over recovery
-press power button to select recovery
-once you reach screen with exclamation and device hold volume up and press power

you can now wipe device or flash an update

I did this accidentally yesterday turning on my phone. It freaked me out for a moment reminding me of the screen that came up when I leak-updated my Eris. What's "fastboot reboot" for?

thanks for this great mod !

I installed it successfully, and my questions now are:

1) to get back to my old system, i just have to boot into GoAPK ClockworkMod Recovery, wipe cache&data and restore the backup i made? or do i also have to flash a sbf-file with RSD Lite?

2) (updated) google maps : rotation doesn't work, is that normal (defy not a supported device) ?

thanks for your help :)
