thanks guys great to know so i guess ill try those kernels and c what suots me. i am not completely new to this i used to flash my fascinate like crazy. also i was reading not to flash a kernel while charging because it may mess up the motherboard when u charge it after? any truth to that?

I've never heard that. Virtually all my flashing is done while plugged in and that's never caused me an issue. Flash away :)

Man, I would just boot into recovery and flash your preferred kernel.... I don't think you can flash a kernel while booted into android.

I'm not positive but I think there is an option to load a package in ROM manager and then it will boot into recovery and flash it automatically if you have cwm recovery... And I think that is what he was asking about

As for the plugged in... I haven't heard about that issue while flashing but if you flash a kernel with fast charge... Do not enable fast charge while plugged in

HAHA...I bet you thought there was gonna be something awesome here, but it's just a regular old signature

Oh, okay, I didn't know that. Cool :)

Can you tell me more about this? because I've done this twice, without thinking, and the world hasn't ended. (I changed the /sys/kernel/fast_charge value to 1 and saved....)

I am using Lean Kernel 2.0 with GalaxyMod RLS 16. it's awesome, and if you choose to use a custom theme when flashing galaxymod, you can choose an awesome blue theme. and you can check for rom updates in the settings. :D. and all my icons in the top got really small out of no where so I can see them all and I don't have to scroll through them. I think battery life is ok. I think it is about the same as stock which is good. And i'm slightly underclocked and my minimum frequency is low as possible. And i was able to put on a cool S3 boot animation. :D. :good: :good:

Flashed LK 2.0 on a very underrated TW ROM, Eclipse 1.1, and it is smooth as silk. Since finding out I had a "fast" CPU I have tweaked things a little and I am seeing much better results. Beans 11 also smooth as ever with KT747 and a few minor tweaks as outlined in the Kernelizer thread.

Anybody using the stock kernel packaged in Slimrom 4.2? I'm getting excellent results imo, about 20 hours of life with 4 hours of screen on time, no under clocking, undervolting and using the stock governor

I don't use the rom, but I believe Ziggy's kernel which comes with Synergy rom supports exFAT sdcard. Been that way for awhile.

I've been very happy with both LeanKernel and KT747 and I'm currently using KT747

so far is good,
liked it better than the other offer in the aroma installer which was imoseyon's lean kernel and the other one stock kernel optimized by beanstown106

Lean 2.0 and Hyperdrive 8.1 but last was liquid smooth and kt. Really depends on what you want... Bat life or performance.

    Hey guys,

As many of us try out the various custom kernels for the various custom ROMs, we like to share our experiences, good or bad. However the problem with doing this is that we often clutter the ROM thread with unrelated kernel talk.

So here is the perfect thread to share your experience.

ALL THAT IS ASKED OF YOU IS THAT YOU LIST THE ROM AND KERNEL AND THEIR VERSIONS IN YOUR POST AND PLEASE DO NOT POST MIRRORS... JUST LINK TO DEVELOPERS THREAD IF LINKS ARE REQUESTED

    THANK YOU

    Yes, slowly but surely.

It would be a lot easier if there were git patches instead of ring kissing for instructions.

A git patch is worthless if you don't know what it's doing or how.
Give a man a fish (or patch) and he eats (or codes) for a day, teach him how to fish (or how to fix code) and he can eat every day (or fix code on his own).

Silver platter or valuable knowledge :) think on that.

It would be easier if devs paid a little more attention to what they were doing instead of whining about git patches to copy from...

    Thread cleaned
I thought I made it clear there was to be no in depth discussion of Anthrax
No discussion of the site it comes from, nor the developer there or his practices!
If you have the Anthrax kernel then you have access to the site, please discuss it there
I will tolerate no disrespect of any developer whether they are on this site or not
Do not come onto XDA inciting any wars about this! What happens there, stays there!
You want to discuss GPL with that developer, make an account there and discuss it with him
Do not post here where only third parties can speak for him

OK, let's not turn this into a huge....thing.
The offending post has been edited by the poster but apparently not before being quoted.
Let's end it here before it gets out of hand.
We can all appreciate an intellectual debate which furthers development
Stick to that. I do not want to see attacks just to prove you can.
