Each HTC One has a unique ESN number. That ESN is loaded into the carriers data base of working units.
If you have a Sprint unit that is only going to work on Sprint. Verizon will no accept an ESN from an outside carrier.
What you could do is swap cases. Find a repair shop with qualified techs to put a Red Sprint case on a Verizon unit.
Those unlocked ones you see for sale are GSM unlocked. For CDMA to work the ESN still has to be registered on the carriers network.
