Its highly unlikely you will be able to upgrade your motherboard.
But info of your laptop could tell us for sure. The problem is unlike desktops mobos, laptops mobos are designed normally just for that laptop and often even different models have different boards with amount points in other locations etc.

Short answer likely not possible unless your lucky or what to swap out the old board for the same board

Code:
class Luke extends Jedi {
    function checkFather($father) {
        if ($father-]name == 'Darth Vader')
            die('NOOOOO!!');
    }

Not going to happen, laptops are no where near as upgradeable, yes you can upgrade ram (to the limit of the mobo) but like I already send the boards are designed for that laptop, as all laptops have things in different locations, USB ports, disk drive etc etc.

Its always been a case if you want upgradableness you have to stick to a desktop

Yes if you can get a look at a board and check the mounts, USBs etc line up then you might be able to get a better G550 motherboard but you would be limited to just these boards.
The only time I have ever replaced mobos for laptops is when the boards damaged and it will be replaced with a copy of that board nothing else

You've been told no already mate. The motherboard might physically fit, but the connection to the LCD might be different. Or the keyboard etc.

There is a reason that people don't upgrade laptop motherboards - it's not something they're designed for.

As this has nothing to do with Android or Windows Phone mobile devices, moved to Off-topic.
