So wait, you can restore the 1700MHz band to AT&T LT28at by flashing the LT28i baseband?

I was thinking about picking up an LT28i, but if I can get 1700MHz on at LT28at that would be way more convenient, since craigslist is bursting with AT&T models.

So, if someone doesn't mind, catch me up really quick on the Sony ion. You can't unlock the bootloader on the AT&T model, from what I understand, but you can root and flash new kernels and basebands (like the LT28i version)?

This is exciting!

Yes, you can have all ION bands on AT&T version, but you can only flash stock firmware, as opposed to other roms (stock meaning any stock firmware from LT 28h or LT28i). If you buy AT&T version, you would have to deal with sim lock issue, locked bootloader and AT&T bloat...

Me personally, I got rid of all AT&T applications. I also removed everything having anything to do with Google, including Google framework services. And I use LB guard, which lets me choose permissions. Remember, Google is evil. LOL. As such, no application on my phone has access to phone id and positioning, except for navigation (positioning only), and I use Sygic.

Hi I have been scouring lots of threads here, but I still don't really know. I'm coming over from only having used an iPhone, but now I'd like to go Android.

I recently bought a LT28AT and am in the process of carrier unlocking it to use on T-Mobile. However, I don't really know what flashing the "baseband" is because I am completely new to this. Can someone point to a guide or give me some direction as to what I would need to do after carrier unlocking it to unlock the 1700 band so that I can get 3G on T-Mobile? I love the LT28AT more than any iPhone I have owned and would love to use it on T-Mobile.

Thanks in advance!

This is EXACTLY what I am looking for.
So I just flash Hong Kong ROM (to debrand), and LT28i radio to get AWS HSPA + LTE?????
If so, how?
I have obtained required ROMs.
LT28a is SIM unlocked.

From what I read the Lt28h supports hspa+42 and the the LT28i supports hspa+21. Is this correct? I was going off the specs at gsmarena but I know that info can be wrong sometimes.
