As I said in the PM, I'm really disappointed in the support of the non-European, non-American crowd. I literally just received $3 in a 13 week period during the late summer
during very active development on the i9500, and have only about 900 concurrent users if Google Play store is correct. I'm really not motivated to do anything much for a device I don't even own if it has a similar type of reception.
I do feel bad about the 5420 crowd as I doubt anybody will step up with any meaningful solution on his own any time soon, but as it is I'm busy on the i9500 and 4.3 updates for the S3 and N2. Please remember that this is a hobby and I also spend my time on other things, I don't even really feel like updating the S3 and N2, but feel obliged to them.
the situation is quite simple, not all phone users will come to xda to install modded firmwares, only a little % of real owners of the device
simply i see the n3 is so slow in modding, probably the impossibility to root it without losing the warranty, or the limitate numbers of users witch has the n900 version over the n9005
anyway, you have to know if you put a free kernel, not all will pay for it, if it's free.. that's why you own only 13 dollars..
the best way is simple, get a piggy bank and buy the phone with that money, so, it will be "free" for you, and you will be able to create the kernel as you prefere
that's the only way..
look at here..

well, you have to know that the real advantages for this 5420 will be used when samsung will release the kernel witch works natively with HMP support
in this situation the only things possible to do is to add an undervolt module + some othe little fix/modules.. but, the REAL boost up is with HMP support
anyway core migration will be good to, not as like as hmp, but, better than cluster migration
why are those cores in cluster migration?
simply it's the easyer way to create the kernel, witch it has the driver witch chose to switch from A7 to A15 and viceversa
for core migration and hmp (heterogeneus multi processing) kernel needs to have a better driver, that's to use exy completely at it should do
for now a modded kernel is not as usefull as an upgrade to HMP
simply the cluster migration has a big issue..
when 1 core needs more power than the A7 at maxfreq, kernel switch ALL cores to A15, it means there ae 4 cores at A15 (at an high freq) when 3 of those 4 could be runned at A7 core.. simply, less efficiency since soc is alimenting 3 cores at A15 for LOW TASKS
with core migration only the real necessary cluster jumps from A7 to A15, simply, more efficiency
hmp is the best since A7 will used anytime for all, and A15 will turned on only if another process will call a task witch is unpossible to be compiled with an A7 core
you could understand the HMP is not so easy to develope since linux has to understand whats the "size" of the task, and chose when put it in A15 or simply live it in A7
HMP will have the best efficiency ever
and, in theory we will have it in our 5420 socs..
last month there were 3 videos from ARM witch explain with graph interface the functionality of hmp over a 5420 SoC
it means it's under processing.. and still need some time to be completed
probably we will have that hmp with android 4.4, maybe..
