Okay, now I am getting something

Which pocket mode are you using?

Split 2nd Sensor Function should be used when Pocket Mode is set to Split

Well, the problem is that you have set both the functions to lock & unlock.
Which causes shake to lock / unlock & Proximity to lock /unlock too.
Hence, when you lock using Proximity then you try to keep the phone below or do something with it shake unlocks it.

I suggest using Shake for lock or unlock not both & Proximity for lock or unlock but not both.

You can also try Fuse : Shake & Proximity of Pocket Mode if you.

If you have any more questions then just let me know

Appreciate your work on this app. It was indeed a brilliant idea. However, it worked absolutely horribly for me. On top of that, battery goes south...FAST.

2nd time using this app , it locks screen just fine but doesn't wake the phone again if i choosed fuse shake + proximity or shake only
i have to use proximity only .
is there any work around for that ?
maybe i'm doing something wrong , like after going to pocket mode and choosing fuse , what should i choose for 1st sensor and 2nd sensor ?
i thought it was supposed to be fuse :\ , i'm very confused to be honest .

had to download from playstore link... your screenshot image links are invalid & the .apk in the OP is old? toast notification said "this app is expired!"
tested pocket mode, screen on/off, using shake and proximity fuse.
works well so far in my 5 minute test... will report back in a few days time
excellent concept, would love to see further development

Made my life really easy. :)
The power button on Htc One is not all that awesome. Tested and working on HTC One Developer Edition on TrickDroid 8.0.
Thank You.

It's not your problem, I can understand that app is bit difficulty to use.
I am trying my best to make it simple.

Have you tried changing the sensor Function to lock & unlock.
If not then please change to it for having unlock functionality too.

If you have any other questions then feel free to ask

You should prefer downloading app from Play Store because all the new stuff is provided over there fast.

Thanks for trying out my app.

If you have any other questions then feel free to ask.

I've tried your app but it cannot override secure lock on my device, which was the reason for trying it. It may be because other device manager also requires secure lock screen(exchange mail account). Maybe you should notice it on the app comments in Play store.

... or it may be caused bay any other reason I didn't find...

Also I noticed that when it wakes up (to unlock pin screen), It goes off again in 2-3 seconds.

I was using just proximity mode (cover)

hi akshay

First of all, great job in the app considering u're still a young dude. Just to let u know, I've been doing some testing and the app actually keeps the CPU from deep sleep longer than usual. In a short 12 min test, with Cover Algorithm on, my phone sleeps only 8% of the time. Turning it off and testing it again, the phone sleeps 64% of the time. I used CPU Spy to get the CPU stats. My phone is a Note 2, rooted with custom Samsung rom.

So besides the current drain from the sensors (which I guess should be negligible), there is the (I'm guessing?) bigger batt drain of not letting the CPU sleep properly.

Here are my settings :
1) Flip Cover Mode - Fuse : Proximity + Light
2) Pocket Mode - No, goes to flip cover
3) Set Sensor Function - Lock / Unlock Screen
4) Split 2nd Sensor Function - None
5) Sensor Sensitivity - Low

Now I'm not sure if it's technically possible to do an unlock via the sensors without keeping the CPU awake.. if that's the case then you might need to allow users to choose a shorter Auto Shut Down period which is shorter than the current 2 hrs, so that users who are concerned with their CPUs not deep-sleeping can choose a shorter shut down period.. maybe something like 5 mins, 10 mins, half hr, 1 hr and so on?

There is a similar app called Auto Screen On and there are 2 Wakelock settings in that app where 1 is the standard Wakelock which will use more power and there is a Wakelock(part time) which uses less power which could be something you could implement too.

---------- Post added at 05:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:06 PM ----------

Also I noticed that when it wakes up (to unlock pin screen), It goes off again in 2-3 seconds.

Check your Unlock Screen timeout settings.. I think by default it's set to 2 secs.. I think it's too short so I changed it to 5 secs.

Hi, mate
Thanks for your detailed review.

Actually, there was custom button in auto Shut down but it had bug so I removed it for now.

Your idea is nice about Wakelock, I will add it in next update

About Battery : I am quite sure that my app doesn't it much battery. But, I never checked about CPU sleeping. I will play a little with CPU sleeping & make some improvements in future.

    Known Issues :

    -Edit : Fixed

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) :

    1. What does this App do ?
Ans : Uses various sensors to determine whether the user wanna lock or unlock the screen. Hence, saves time, battery, etc

    2. How, do I uninstall this app ?
Ans : Using the uninstall button from Main Screen OR Go to System Settings->Device Administrator->Disable it & then Uninstall the app

    3. Is this app completely free & where are the ads ?
Ans : Nope, this app doesn't have ads & ever will & is free but after some period the app gets expire & you need to buy the unlocker

    4. Does Cover Algorithm keep running in background ?
Ans : Yes. Because, It needs to run always to lock & unlock phone depending on calculation done by app

    5. Does activating the feature 'Start App on Startup' slows down device as told by Android ?
Ans : Yes, for sure but if there are less number of apps for starting on startup then the delay is negligible. If you selected lots of apps or heavy apps then it will slow down the startup of device causing delay

    6. Doesn't using sensors continuously consume alot battery ?
Ans : They consume very less power almost negligible. The sensors consume current in few mA

    7. Does Disabling the lock screen also remove my secured lock screen ?
Ans : Yes, of course it surely disables lock screen even with password or pattern or any possible lock screen protection. Bug: Lock Screen gets activated when notification tray is used for opening app

    8. Does changing sensor affect the battery life ?
Ans : Battery drain rate depends upon the sensor you have selected.Hence, choose such sensor that provides less errors & less power consumption

    9. Does changing sensor 'effect' affect the battery life ?"
Ans : Yes, this is because for unlocking the phone. We need to wake the CPU which costs the battery. Hence, for prevention of battery I have added an CPU timeout which drains bit less battery, else you can change effect to ONLY LOCK which doesn't cost much battery

Thanks... Just wanted to point out your poll at the top is in the wrong format I believe... For me in USA it reads 100 $ USD... I can't image you intended to ask if your app is worth $100 USD, maybe you meant $1.00 USD?

Even though I already bought the paid and cant remember how much I paid, I would suggest maybe $2.00

Actually, the poll options are wrong :p
Also, I can't change them. :banghead:

The cost changes according to variation with my home currency.
    It is normally around $2.

Used the free version for a matter of seconds before I realised this is exactly what I have been looking for.

Really looking forward to seeing future gesture features. I am also looking for a way to use nfc while phone is locked, I'm I right in saying you are playing with that atm?

    Thanks mate.
Glad to hear that your wait is now over.
    ;)

Lot many new things are coming & few are around the corner.

Where I can find v1.83.2? In google play v1.7.3 only... :(

    It is actually paid version.

    Hi,

I come to support your app (paid for it for good use)
I found a bug, how to enable Night time when I check it, it says Night time started then immediately it says stopped. I've set stop time at 2am and start time at 8am.

Also, can I request no notification icon for Air gesture too? Because it is there for Main Automaton app but not for air gesture (and maybe you may consider to combine two icons into one icon, use different icon to specify either or both functions are enabled), it saves my notification space which is already 'crowded' :)

    Thanks a lot :D

I will check the night mode bug.
Thanks for suggestion. Will implement one notification for both the features.
