My XT1080m is not the Developer Edition, and unrooted, but went to T-Mobile, swapped out my sim for a T-Mobile sim and everything is working perfectly.

Just switch preferred network to LTE/GSM/UMTS and data, phone calls, and texts work just fine

4GLTE the internet is great but i couldn't send texts

EDIT: T-Mobile network much more stable with this app...

Best settings will vary depending on where you are...

Finally decided to use that app and I got better speeds, not bad for Mexican carriers

Thinking about getting the Maxx.. I am on T mobile...Do I need the DEV version ? If not does the VZ version need to be unlocked and rooted to work? Figure since this is last of the real Moto I would really like one to hang on to...TIA

No need to unlock or root anything. Keep in mind that you need to be on a particular version of 4.2.2 (mentioned earlier in this thread I believe) in order to get LTE speeds. If you update to 4.4 you will have issues with calling and texting unless you disable LTE and stick with HSPA+

That's how it was for me.... Data was great on LTE, but sms and mms weren't working... But switching to CDMA (H+) data is more than fast enough and txt and mms no longer have issues

That is the setting I use for my day to day it takes calls and data is fine for everyday tasks.

I choose to keep APNs clear due to the handoff issue, when the apns are in the phone tries to connect to Verizon LTE rather than T-Mobile, without apns set LTE will work but your first call will try to call using Verizon 1x and and call will fail, on my device the speaker won't work until a call goes through, just call again and the phone will default to gsm and work.

When apns are set it goes right through.. No issues.

I don't know about pic messages since I often use hangouts.

I think you have seen this menu before as well.

    Well good luck to you.

you must be on su5 or su6 4.4.4

    set your apn to fast.t-mobile.com

and follow what i have attached

    reboot

Confirmed working. I've seen other sites mentioning fast.tmobile.com, but you MUST put the dash (-) in there, fast.t-mobile.com, for it to work.

That doesn't sound like "working perfectly" on TMo.
