Please - How to use dialer in ICS ?

Hi ! Pls help me here. I am now using IFINITUM ICS rom. So far its been good. But how to use dialer if for example someone calls me and gives me a number which I quickly jot down on my dial pad but make an error ......so then how do I delete that since I do not find any Back buttons for deletion . Secondly, how do I proceed to then save that number in my contacts ? Am I missing some manual settings here ?
Please let me know. Thanks a lot !

Don't click on the dial pad thing when in a call, click on the +(and man) to call/add contact
