blue, need to wait next monday. its gonna be blue monday. its temporary, when you come up with new mods, than i'll be doomed ;)

so waddayathink bout v7 kernel? is it good or is it bOOooooo ..? :D

It's definitely good....even with the world record wake lock, it is only burning 3% of battery per hour. Away from work (too many routers), the drain is less...between 1 and 2% per hour.

Everything I tried with v715 worked...I eventually got ubuntu to work on it...the ubuntu lags because of the low mem. Ubuntu on crappy lappy looks like a supercluster in comparison...:D......but android still runs great....really really smooth in ICS.

Have you tried the aroma filemanager/installer yet?...the recovery based file management tools are really powerful....can flash it right from recovery: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1646108

Sirkay, I wish to express my appreciation for all your efforts.

I should be obliged if someone could help me with a problem.

I use last JJ's ROM and Sirkay's kernel v 6.2.5
When I choose SmartassV2 Governor in ROM Control everything is fine...but when I change max or min frequency - my phone freezes and then restarts :(
Same thing with Intellidemand. Now I've set it to InteractiveX and so far so good.

Am I doing something wrong? Why is this happening ?

I would really appreciate any help.

yeah i heard about aroma, but i got lost when look at updater-script. do we need to edit updater-script or just put packages in the folder and run aroma?

I am getting my own Xperia Ray today...:D.. will complete my Hybrid ROM hopefully tonight...

Sirkay, I tried ur v7 kernel, it was good.. there seemed a slight improvement in performance vs 6.2.5 but I got some battery drain..2%/hr during the night... I cant completely blame the Kernel... it could be the ROM I am porting since I have not yet finished editing frameowrk..

Just download one of the zip packages and flash it in recovery.....follow the instructions. I think you only need the updater-script and the other stuff if you
want it to do things automatically for you.

If I understood correctly, doomlord put aroma into the ramdisk and it can be accessed from recovery with out flashing a separate package (its in the xperia S thread).....

Indeed.
Please accept my sincere appreciation for your help.

But still I would be glad to know why the phone restarts when clocked to 1.6GHz.

bcause instability and cheap phone? if you want 1.6ghz+ get Xperia S/P/U maybe. its dual core

i dont understand how its works yet. and as i know, it is usefull to rom chef. they can add multiple patch, themes, mods. as kernel developer i dont get any clear picture hows aroma usefull to me.

things that i need to do it is how to flash kernel with cwm instead of fastboot. galaxy users can flash their kernel thru recovery mode

I think that you are right...it is probably most useful for editing the ROM. I am not sure if you can use it to monkey around with the Ramdisk that would be pretty cool), but I can't imagine how it would let you monkey with the kernel itself. I am using Aroma like I would use Root explorer only from inside of Recovery...mostly getting rid of/replacing stuff. For somethings it is a lot easier to do it from recovery than to do it while the ROM is running.

Doomkernel for Xperia S also flashes from recovery.....maybe if you hot boot the kernel to get into recovery you can use Aroma to flash the boot partition....

No doubt about it, bb .72 is much better than .70. Honestly, I think bb .64 is better than .70! I have been running JJ v3.0 with your xray v715 (with bb .70 and then bb .72) and I can really notice the difference in network speeds.

I also noticed a huge improvement in battery drain on bb .72, now it is below
1% per hour! xray v715 is also pretty miserly when the phone is not in standby...the only time the battery current is stronger than -300 mA is when the cpu and the GPU are in use.

I am overclocking v715 to 1.4 GHz and I am still playing with the undervolting. I can undervolt much more extremely at the top of the table and not so much at the bottom...is it because there are more transitions at the low end. I feel really ignorant about how the cpu freq transitions are set up. Most of the reference material I have found is for PCs and they almost always recommend using 1/2 steps (if the cpu max is 1000, your steps would be 1000, 500, 250) and nobody does it this way on android....

First Thing First: How To Install Custom Kernel
    1) You need to UNLOCK BOOTLOADER using one of these method. I'm NOT responsible of what you've decide. Please follow instruction carefully.
    -> S1tool
-> Sony Mobile - Unlock Bootloader
    2) Get this awesome tool called Flashtool and install. Dont forget to install usb drivers from "Drivers" folder too.
    3) I assume you have download one of my kernel. Get into Fastboot mode. How? Do i have to repeat how? Press "Volume Up" while connecting your USB cable. you'll see Blue led.
    4) Click "Flash" button on Flashtool, then select Fastboot Mode.
    5) Choose "Select Kernel to Flash" and find your saved kernel. I'm not gonna find it for you.
