Help, Replacement evo, first one cracked. Freshly Rooted, damage control rom for now, attempted to install the boot screen and got this error

fastboot flash splash1 evosplash1.rgb565
sending 'splash1' (750 KB)... OKAY [ 0.359s]
writing 'splash1'... FAILED (remote: not allowed)

What's going on here?

Either you didn't move the .rgb565 file to sdk/tools folder, or you got a corrupted download.

Hmmmm...thats weird. I just literally installed one 15 minutes ago. Do you have NAND unlocked and HBOOT/FASTBOOT installed?

Added "Cyanogen Evo" to post #2. Great looking splash screen if you're a Cyanogen user.

I have asked many people who have not answered me, so I will ask you. Can you please make or help me to make a boot screen that is the new CM6 Boot screen, but Orange, so I can use it with the NexTang theme? I would appreciate it.

hey what about something like this...or the cyanogen's pissing on the apple?

i cant decide which one...lol the cyanogen to match the boot or the droid pissing on the apple!!

please combine both with good looks!!

I could re-color a splash screen lickety split. However, a boot animation would have to be re-colored frame by frame and with roughly 120 frames in a boot animation...that would be a lot of work.

Well, I would appreciate anything you could do. I want it to look like the boot screen now but orange to match the NexTang theme. Let me know.

How would u go about recoloring the whole thing? Photo-Shop, Illustrator? I have both.

I'm confused as to what you mean by "bootscreen". Are you talking about the splashscreen or the boot animation?

well at first I was talking about a boot animation replica of the CM6 for Evo only orange, but I would appreciate a splash screen as well as you have to use your time to do it.

Here's an orange version of the Cyanogen style splash screen. Download link is in post #2. I'm not sure if I'm willing to re-color the boot animation (120+ frames) for free. I would have to extract each PNG frame and re-color them one by one. That would take me like a month...plus I don't have that kind of time lately.

Well, I do appreciate it, but it was not what I meant. I wasn't trying to sound unappreciative, because I know how hard you guys work. I just was looking for the new CM6 look. Thank you for all your hard work.
