That's what I meant. That they are all the same files but there's just more than one link to them. Therefore my guess is that symbolic links are the multiple paths are just symbolic links of /storage/emulated/0.

Symlinks are needed for backwards compatibility

Symlinks are needed for backwards compatibility

Nevermind. The reason I asked was because 11.5 of 12 GB was used of and that's a problem. So I deleted the 2 copies in /storage and it went down to 3gb used. I guess I'm good for now.

No problem. But you do realize that once you reboot your phone, the symlink will be created again...

Are you on latest TWRP. Some advise. First pm me if you need some help with this. I had like 6 gigs missing and I found it in
data/media/ folder (old sd card location)
I Had tons of old backups, old downloads which I moved/ deleted The only thing I left was my 0 folder so now when you go to my data/media folder you see data/media/0 folder and nothing else

Thats what you need to do. Then you be like everyone else here. However if your stuck on getting back to the old format its more then possible,. Some guy did it on nexus forum or one forums here I got a link. But. I wouldn't bother. Sooner or later the smart guys will fix this 0 folder crap because its pointless for us. However were using stuff that isn't made for are phones so what do you expect.

Clean data/media out move everything to data/media/0 folder... and upgrade to TWRP newest or CWMtouch newest here is a link for that too. My dropbox ... newest recoverys are all there (all of them) and easy install you can use mobile odin.. which guess what I got a link for that to. *sigh* lots of links... you need anything else buddy? Got hardware id error? read my sig I can fix that too lol... k man if want PM me I promise help ya out it confusing untill you understand it then its simple... *shrug*

Upgrade recoverys ---------> Twrp, CWM, Cwm Touch
Get mobile Odin to install them ---------> Mobile odin

If get hardware id error get it here ------> Drivers

Hey for editing folders, moving files use this program android comander its ADB comands and its Windows GUI which means easy to use and it has lots of power. ANDROID COMANDER
if you need something else pm me (no link for that) haha

Great rom I updated using near gooap feature delta update. I didn't even flash gapps.. I asked but never got reply in time so I gave it a try and it updated only what needed to be updated and worked flawless. I would like ask is this how its made to work? I mean If use incrmental update flash option then i don't need gapps right? or do I?

Also do you support these Gapps that guy put together with sphere camerah and stuff? or do you only support the 2012 gapps I ask because I know we talked about using off market apps before.... soo curious your feelings Dev :)

For people not getting Fahrenheit to show up, try this.

Go to cLock settings. Check metric, then uncheck it. Then reboot. Once it's back, tap your weather and it should update , in Fahrenheit.

When I use the swipe to the left for the camera from the lockscreen after I go back to the lockscreen my wallpaper is gone, turns black, and the only way to get it back is a reboot. Any idea why?

Mine does that too. the 2-17 nightly was the first 4.2.2 nightly, and bugs are bound to be there. If you unlock your phone and open up the camera apps normally it works fine however.

Sounds like you didn't flash gapps after the ROM. Just pull the battery, replace, hold VOL UP + HOME + POWER to boot into recovery. Wipe and reflash the latest nightly with the 4.2.2. gapps. I know you said you can't get to recovery, but I'm assuming you can since you're booted into the ROM with gapps failing. Just need to go another route.

First off get a app like rom toolbox or rebooter or gapps something that lets you boot into recovery.... 2nd Try fixing permisons you can do this from lots of apps I use rom manager scripter or busy box installer has a script for it or nandroid manager has a script for it (take pick) or use TWRP to do it....

You can get into reocvery bro and if you can't you can get into download trust me don't freak. Also if reocvery is messed up just download Gmanager or go to this thread and grab one and reinstall it..

If fix persmisons doesn't work relfash like person said and reflash gapps 2012 don't flash the funny zip someone posted above I wouldn't trust someone else zip of gapps... just the offical ones please... you be fine... I update all time with 0 problems and I just follow the directions in the OP

**** goes good when you follow directions and pay atention also write this down in a text file and save it to HD.
Unplug the USB cable.
Shut down the phone.
Hold down the 'HOME' + 'VOLUME UP' buttons and press the 'POWER' button for about 5 seconds to enter Recovery Mode.

[edit]Download Mode
(eg: for Odin)

Unplug the USB cable.
Shut down the phone.
Hold down the 'HOME' + 'VOLUME DOWN' buttons and press the 'POWER' button for about 2 seconds until a WARNING! Screen appears. Press the 'VOLUME UP' button to enter Download Mode.
To get out of Download Mode, simply press and hold the power button until the phone restarts

Dev you must know that we can choose to just update using incremental updates right? with goomanager. Do you support this feature and if so do we follow the OP and flash gapps after it (the point of it is to only update what we need) So I wonder if we don't need gapps for that reason because its not a normal flash...

Also do you support the gapps someone posted above that are not 2012 g apps but 2012 gaps edited wiht extra new gapps...? I assume not that you only support what is in the OP..

also last but not least could you give me a heads up do you think profile settings unlock keyguard might be a issue you might look into fixing (could be a easy fix) I Know it worked on jellybam perfectly and if that guy could manage it I would figure it be a easy fix for you man. You got much more skill lol then that guy lol... I ask because its a serious feature I use a lot I mean I spend tons time on comptuer at home *sad* when im not working and I hate using wifi unlock because its just a battery drainer sucks when thats only thing I need it for and doesn't work as well as profile settings, plus I love profil settings... thanks man I try not ask stuff like that but im really curious

The op change log says the ability to use the volume buttons to change the cursor while typing. How do you do that? I've been looking for ever to find it out. Thanks

Going into the camera by swiping left on the lockscreen seems to be working now. First time I did it the phone crashed and restarted. I swiped to it accidently a few min ago and worked fine. Tested it a couple more times to be sure

    Known Issues

    Inverted APPS

First of all, I would like to say that flashing inverted GAPPS is fully acceptable and it won't break anything. The issue is, some inverted gapps "devs" don't stop at inverting GAPPS. They go beyond this scope and also include other apps such as Phone, Contacts, Mms etc..

These system apps (Phone, Contacts, Mms etc...) Are built from source every time we build a rom and it does happen that we make several changes to them which makes them SPECIFIC to the rom you use. In the case of RootBox Mms, Phone, Camera and ROMControl are built with specific merges that other roms might not have. So what happens when you flash Inverted APPS? You're basically using an outdated/not fully compatible app with RootBox and you might even be missing some features. This is why I do not support anyone using inverted APPS.

    A
    Alarm
How can I disable alarm icon?

    • You can enable/disable alarm icon in statusbar in Clock > Settings.
    • You can enable/disable next alarm information on Chronus widget in RootBox Settings > Chronus > Clock and alarm.

    B
    Battery
How can I save my battery? (Without flashing anything or undervolt kernel)

    • You can check all apps/functions which sync in background like GPS, Wlan or Social accounts (If not needed = disable)
    • Set the Brightness down (Settings > Display > Brightness)
    • Use dark (best black) theme & wallpaper & lockscreenwallpaper

    C
    Chronus
How can I place Chronus on lockscreen?

    Look into Lockscreen section below.

    Where do I configure Chronus?

RootBox Settings > Chronus. There you can configure Clock + Weather + Calendar settings. Note that all these settings apply to both homescreen and lockscreen Chronus widget.

How can I change color of Chronus widget?

You cannot ATM. You can only change color of standard clock. Or you can use theme which changes color of Chronus, e.g. Hue themes by Kroz.

    D
    DPI
    How can I customize DPI?

There are basically two ways to do so.
    1. Change overall system DPI
You can change overall system DPI by editing build.prop system file. We do not recommend to do that manually.
Use some user-friendly app from Play store, e.g. Texdroider. But remember that you have to use multidpi playstore then to be able to install other apps without problems.
    2. Change per-app DPI
You can use Per-App Settings integrated into this ROM:

First, all credits associate to Xposed Frameworks and Modules goes to Rovo89 for sharing his work and making it open source for everyone. You guys should all buy him a beer.

      Steps to follow:
      1) Install Xposed Frameworks by going in Modules Management>Install/Update
      2) Enable Per-App Settings by going in Modules Management> Modules>Tick RootBox Per-App Settings (You should reboot your phone at this point)
      3) Setup your phone : Per-App Settings>Choose your app>Set DPI/Resolution/Tablet UI/Language> Press Save on top
      4) Your app should now display in your preferred settings. If it doesnt, kill the app and restart it or reboot phone.

My device isn’t supported in playstore after changing DPI

You have to use the MultiDPI-Playstore here from URL="http://xdaforums.com/member.php?u=4534385"] “MyLifeRocks10”:
    => http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1839871

    E
    Expanded Desktop
Can I use Expanded desktop on this ROM?

Yes. Enable it in RootBox Settings and switch it on or off in Power menu.

    F
    Flashing
    How to flash this ROM?

It depends on your starting position. Here are possible options:
Option 1: Updating RootBox with stable/nightly version without major changes - Without Full Wipe
    1. Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
    2. Go into recovery mode
    3. Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
    4. Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
    5. Recovery > wipe cache partition (optional)
    6. Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache (optional)
    7. Reboot and you are done!
Option 2: Coming from another ROM or updating RootBox version with major changes or having strange problems - With Full Wipe
    1. Download ROM and put it on internal sd card
    2. Go into recovery mode
    3. DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
      -- wipe data/ factory reset
      -- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
      -- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
    4. Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- Select RootBox.zip and flash it
    5. Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
    6. Recovery > wipe cache partition
    7. Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
    8. Reboot and you are done!
Option 3: Coming From Stock ROM (Samsung firmware, no root)
    => Root and Backup
    1. Root your phone and install latest CWM/TWRP Recovery
    2. Make a nandroid backup of your Samsung ROM
=> Now start the process to flash Rom.
    1. Download ROM and put it on internal sd card

    3. DO A FULL WIPE!!! (This won’t effect data of internal or external sd-card)
      -- wipe data/ factory reset
      -- wipe cahe partition
-- advanced > wipe dalvik cache
      -- mount and storage > format data/system/cache
    4. Then flash RootBox
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select RootBox.zip and flash it
    5. Then flash Gapps
-- install .zip from sd card > choose .zip from internal sd card
-- select gapps.zip and flash it
    6. Recovery > wipe cache partition
    7. Recovery > advanced > wipe dalvik cache
    8. Reboot and you are done!

    G
    GAPPS
Do I have to flash GAPPS with ROM?

    Yes.

What version of GAPPS should I download?

Currently you need GAPPS 20121212 for RootBox version >3.2 based on Android 4.2.1. If you for any reason want to install RootBox based on Android 4.1.2, i.e. version 3.2 and lower, install GAPPS 20121011. You can check here for latest GAPPS for different Android versions: http://goo.im/gapps.

    L
    Lockscreen
How do I get shortcuts on my lockscreen?

    RootBox Settings > Shortcuts.

How do I put Chronus on my lockscreen instead of standard clock?

You have to drag clock on lockscreen. It will allow you to remove it. Then you can add Chronus or any other widget instead.

How do I make Chronus show my Weather and Calendar on lockscreen?

Rom Control > Lockscreen > Minimize Lockscreen Challenge.

How do I unlock faster when Minimize Lockscreen Challenge is enabled?

Rom Control > Lockscreen > Enable longpress to unlock.

    N
    NavBar
How do I change NavBar Color?

    Hybrid Settings>Interface> NavBar Color .

How do I enable NavBar transparency?

Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity.

    Nightlies
What is Nightly? Should I flash Nightly or latest Stable version?

There is no major difference. Nightlies are "unofficial" builds that are built almost everyday for everyone to try builds with the latest sources merged to RootBox. For noobs/average user, this is not necessary because they live in a bubble where they feel more comfortable flashing an "official" release than a nightly, but at the end, it all breaks down to just a differentiation of name. So if you don't know what a nightly is, don't flash it and don't bother asking.

    S
    Statusbar
How do I enable Status Bar transparency?

Rom Control>GeneralUI>Statusbar and navigation bar opacity.

What is fast toggle in Status Bar Toggles?

This will allow you to swipe from the right or left side of your statusbar (depending on what you choose) and it will go to your quick settings bypassing any notifications.
    13
They won't build until bajee is done merging stuff it's been like this for a week. He's purposely not allowing them to build

I'm not purposely breaking builds. I just don't have the time to finish merging what I started since I'm in the middle of examination period in university. You have a funny way of describing the situation as if I didn't want you guys to build.

I just sync and build, don't know much about bug fixing though :( that's Bajee's expertise :)

I'll fix it tomorrow after my exam. Latest should be sunday.
    11
Thanks for taking on building for us! Do you have any plans for d2tmo?

Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2

I can compile for tmo tomorrow as well. Heck for now until Bajee comes back i'll compile for d2vzw, d2att, and d2tmo :) I will NOT be cherry picking anything into them, it'll be whatever comes from Bajee's repo.

Anyone else notice Noba and Pie settings are not buddys? Messed with my settings for sure (Can turn them all off) but hmm whats the point of pie settings? its slick and cool ya but ... whats the point? just to use expanded desktop right? isn't that sorta like nav bar? cracked out

Then don't use it dude. I've seen you post everywhere, and all you do is comment about how things are useless/broken/bad or not working for you with every rom. If you think it's the same thing as navbar+navbar ring, then use that instead. That's why there's always options to turn things off.
