your "save" option is in the menu in upper right corner..

Is the menu the one i pointed in the attached screenshot? if so, the menu is not available. I tap it and nothing shows up. That menu is only available before entering the "edit access point" screen and it has the "New APN" and "Reset to default" options.

thats correct, from this you press "back", and then "save" at the top right corner.

just tried it and there's no save option.
also my APN list is still blank.

I flashed PRIMEEv14_acerA500-p6. No change in trying to save an APN status. Unable to save a new APN.

I have been reading the thread and have a question. I have a novatel u760 usb modem for Verizon and was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting it to work in Dexter's 3.1 rom? I have been trying to get it working with no luck I think it maybe a kernel driver problem. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated Thanks.

i was wrong.. i thought you meant port xoom to iconia.. simple misunderstanding.

dont know if 3g would work fine on xoom, but i think as we speak they are working on it now..

I have a Huawei E1750 USB 3G Dongle. It does not work for me (I use the PRIMEE v1.4 patch 7).

If I try to Create a New APN, there seems to be no way to save it. Further scanning for networks (Search Networks) i get "Error while searching for networks". Any help is appreciated.

I replaced the apn-conf.xml from my working HD2 to no affect.

If any of you have successfully used the E1750, did you have to do anything special? Like disabling the mass storage? If so can you please share how you did it?

My E1750 working well. I had to disable zero_cd otherwise it won't work.
Here is how i did it:

Insert modem into pc and wait for driver to install
check in device manager which com port is assignated to your modem
download putty
here the.earth.li/~sgtatham/putty/latest/x86/putty.exe
close every program related to modem
run putty
click serial below port number and then change port number to one previously founded
click open
write atz and press enter, modem should answer ok
write ati and press enter, modem should give name, type, etc
write AT^U2DIAG=0 and press enter, zero cd is now disabled

You need also put sim card from modem to any phone and disable pin checking.

i have done all of that on my model huawei e1756 and when i put my modem in the iconia a500 and go to search for network i do not found anything. also i do not see any apn in apn list? what am i missing? do i need to reboot with the usb modem in the usb port? i'm using virtual picasse 1.02 release? does it work better with the primee 1.4 verison? regards

AT^U2DIAG=0 not working for ke. Only give me command not support. Any ideas?
Same modem and everything works til this last point.

Updated post #1, with a update.zip edition, which for stock rom users, can be installed using ClockWorkMod recovery.

Content is still as guided concerning "system" folder, you will also notice a new apns-conf.xml (revision=30) which might have been a bug in previous release.

Hello, all of this is too complicated form me, i've got a bit of help from a few friends, cos i don't understand anything of this tutorial.

So far:
i update my iconia to acer_a500_1.144.07_com_gen1.
i have rooted the device.
i think i've pushed the files to the tablet (but i can't find them with the file manager).
i've got SU.
and then i got stuck with remounting /system.

could you guys give me any tips on how to continue ?
