After my first full charge from 0%, these are my battery results at 9%. Has been mainly used for Tapatalk, Facebook, 2 email accounts, Web browsing and general messing around. Only used for a small amount of video useage. Screen brightness was set at about 35-40% most of the time. Hopefully will get even better after a few more charge cycle's.

Whats other people's results?

My "screen on time", is the same as my " battery time." I had my brightness on 50% and it was also on power saver. The only time I don't use power saver is when I'm using games. My battery drain was for watching videos (YouTube, Netflix) ,Tapatalk app all day, and web browsing.

Almost 7 hours with 53% battery drain. That's fantastic for me and my usage.

If you tap on the SCREEN statistic and you will get ACTUAL length of time screen has been on for

hmm lost 7 percent idling overnight. don't really like that.. hoping this battery is just breaking in because a 4900mah battery should be getting better life than my 3000mah LG g2, and so far it isn't lol

So far the Tab S seems to be getting less battery life in mixed use than my Gpad 8.3 and Galaxy Pro 8.4. I've been spoiled by the Nexus 7's 10+ hour of screen on time and none of the 8+ inch tablets get near it. I find when I leave home I take my Nexus 7 because of the great battery life. Sometimes 6-7 hours is not enough.

It seems that our device, for some reason, is not going into deep sleep mode. I saw my battery info under the settings menu, it's always awake. Can someone confirm this?

Go into settings, connections, wifi and check the setting that switches wifi off when in sleep mode. Saves battery for me.

honestly I don't get why the standby time on this battery is so bad. it's 4900mah and yet I drain 10 percent within 11 hours, whereas my 3000mah g2 will drain 1 to 3 percent. it's ridiculous. this is with 8 min screen on time and the Google search awake time is only about 5 minutes. stupid TouchWiz.

I actually find standby time on the 8.4 really good. Screen on time is between 5 to 6 hours for me with moderate to heavy use. I would like more, maybe future updates will improve this.

Have you calibrated the battery? I let my battery run down until it switches off. I usually do this about once a month on my other gadgets. It seems to help. Also battery life should improve after the first week.

Letting a lipo battery die completely shortens it's life.
GM only let's the lipo batteries in the Chevy volt go down half way before the volt stops using them. This makes the volt battery last 10 years instead of the 2 to 4 years most electronic devices get out of lipo batteries

As far as I know the batteries don't die completely. They automatically power down when the battery gets to near empty.

Been doing this to my iPad 3 since they were released and battery life is still great after all this time. My galaxy Note 2 hasn't suffered any ill effects either.

Hello I noticed it too.when I disabled wife in sleep mode there are not so much differences and the battery draining too...

You, lucky bast....I can't disable my wife no matter what I do :D

That's far from gooood...You're on 6.5h SOT within 15h total, which is totally average, and in line with battery capacity. It only means there's nothing wrong with your battery, and further underlines that Samsung failed with battery inside. If you were not watching movies, but playing games, it would lasted 3h top...

some people just have to be negative all the time

who cares if he is satisfied with the battery life. why do you have to stick your nose in it and make him feel bad for using a product that meets his expectations.

life is all about sacrifices. some of us are happy to sacrifice some battery life to have an incredibly thin tablet. some of us think realistically and don't expect a 24 hours of screen on time on an incredibly thin tablet

but yes, continue with your negativity. it's really helping you be so productive in life. . .

Guys wait for software updates battery optimisation will be the fix I am sure.

my problem is power drain when the tab is completely powered off (27% in 6hrs), and not like many people here during standby.

You might have a defective unit. If you've completely turned the tablet off(shutdown, not just locking it) then the only reason why the battery would drain would be from it diminishing naturally. If you're getting that type of drain then something is wrong
