I finally found others like me! I have a 2013 ford fusion with MFT. I just came from a rooted/custom rom Sprint Galaxy s3. Upgraded to the note 3.. and the metadata does not transfer. If I use the stock app its fine.. also Neutron music player works, but the interface of that app sucks. i love player pro, but itll only show the first song played and stay on it. Unless I pause it and play from the touchscreen. Texts also randomly stop showing up on the screen. A modded pandora one also does not work. Very frustrating. I also have issues playing through usb as it constantly indexes.
Thanks for confirming, welcome to the frustration club, hopefully all these issue will be addressed shortly by Samsung and or Ford soon. I think this is more on Samsungs end of things as they may have implemented things improperly in the way of AVRCP 1.3, I just hope it doesn't fall under that category of "Works as intended" as the stock music player seems to work. I use BeyondPod for podcasts 80% of my day and driving 2 hours a day for works makes it a little frustrating when I look at my display and dont see anything but "Unknown" showing up.
I jumped off sprint S4 running 4.2.2 to the Note 3 4.3 and ever since my metadata has not been working in my cars. My S4 had a custom ROM by Sac23 and all track info would show on my display, 2013 Audi A6 & a two year old Sony car receiver in my 1990 Accord. Now with the note 3 my screens is are blank. Must be a something with that low energy Bluetooth and Android 4.3. I wonder if anyone is having the same issue with the Nexus 5??
I have a note 3 running jellybeans and I'm having problems running meta data on my 2013 passat. Right now Google Music doesn't have a problem, but Pandora and Tune in do. I had no problems with my gnex prior running paranoid Android.
I just wanted to add to this since I'm experiencing the same issue.
I have a Galaxy S4 on Sprint and when it was on 4.2.2 all of the meta data was working fine from Pandora version 5 to my Kenwood deck and in a Toyota Corolla that was a rental. While I was on the trip a few weeks ago with the rental I received the 4.3 update. After that update the meta data stopped working in the Toyota. When I got back home and tried it in my car with the Kenwood deck the same thing happened no more meta data from Pandora.
Originally it didn't work on any of the Pandora version 4s that I had. After the update to 5 is when I noticed it working.
Hopefully this information helps out some. I figured Pandora did a work around to get it working in 5 and that work around isn't working currently on Android 4.3. Hopefully someone will release an update so we can find out.
Thanks for confirming, I still have not seen any information regarding possible fixes outside of custom roms, but that is slow going due to our locked bootloader, but hopefully we will see something soon. Maybe it will get fixed with Android 4.4 sometime in January or February.
