I'm surprised at these problems because 6 was so well done.

Is there a fix for this? I kinda need my phone to ring.
This is a joke right?

No, I didn't have these problems with 6. I don't understand how it's funny. Six ran perfectly out of the box (mostly) with little changes from me. I am now learning that there are different flashes for the modem only. So I'm looking into that.
On top of that my internet speed is running really slow the last couple of days. My download speed is 1/2 of my upload speed for some reason (across the whole LAN). So it takes forever for pages to load.
I thought it prudent to go ahead an ask a question (stupidly) while I began the search of this 570 page thread. Every time I see a search result with a similar question, they have gone unanswered so far. So my search isn't going well. Just trying to fix this issue so I can get back to my life.

So I'm following the modem thing for now.

Edit:
Flashing modem UGJL2 did nothing. The phone rang once, screen didn't come on, then it stopped ringing and I tapped the power button and it had no signal from the at&t or wifi, just like the last modem.

I still can't figure out the vibrate when typing. I've been all through the settings flipping off and on switches.

If anyone has any suggestions I love to hear them.

You need to switch kernels. I'm running the TalonDEV Test version 0.6.0.1, you can find it here

Hey tweakedlogic...

As far as the vibrate when typing, go to Menu/ Settings/ Language and Input/ and then go to the settings of the keyboard that u are using. Should be able to do the adustment there.

OK, thank you. I've been looking around and that one says it still basically in testing and might be unstable. Is there a recommendation on a stable kernel? I am looking into others as well since you pointed me in the right direction, thanks again. Semaphore looks promising but more complicated than I may need. It has some really cool useful features though (if it works).

I know, that's the annoying thing. Both the swipe and Gingerbread boards are selected ON, but don't vibrate. No selection vibrates (icons etc) except the hard keys. I hate it! I can barely use the thing it feels so wrong. I'm hoping the kernel fix works. For the moment I flashed it back to 6.4 with a couple clicks in Titanium and it is normal again. I kept getting calls that needed to be answered so I needed my phone to work. I will try again this weekend so I have time to do more research. There are a few things I like in VII, so I want to use it, but for me the cons of not having a working phone out weighs them. I hope I can get it to work. I update when I do.
Thanks

The kernel is perfectly stable, I've been running it since it came out, as have many others. But do as you see fit.

Hey everyone, thinking about flashing to Serendipity VII as it seems really stable and I didn't go through the whole thread but seems to not have that many problems. Should I use the kernel provided on the Serendipity website, or should I use some different kernel as the last few posts were discussing?

Also, the Modems, they're fine/optimized for this ROM (otherwise people wouldn't use it)? Does this contain GPS fix/lagfixes/? Does it have all basic Google Apps with it? Sorry if this is an annoying post... just asking for some input on my final ROM decision. Any other basic info as to the features of Serendipity would be appreciated since the website doesn't offer much as to an explanation.
