I would think that the Best headphones would be the ones that were designed to work with a particular phone. With that said I think the Beats by Dre urbeats designed for and to work with htc phones. I have tried several types and found that the best $50 headphones are the yurbuds ironman inspire. Great sound.

I picked up my beats by dre urbeats from Sprint for $80 which I thought was cheap for a set of beats. I also bought a set of n-ergy the Nick Cannon headphones, they suck but are a cool design.
