Best way for me to describe it is as if it were a computer OS:

Think of this, Your ROM is Windows, where the kernel is your system 32 file. You can't run windows without a system32 file and you can't run a ROM without a Kernel. It controls a lot of basic functions such as display settings, cpu speed and voltage, and sound to name a few. Installing it depends on the device, if your phone will let you flash it through twrp i would atleast wipe your caches to play it safe, if you One X was once running factory 2.20 and requires flashing through fastboot, than thats all you need to do.

I just did that and now I'm in a bootloop. Anyone know how to fix this without doing nandroid?

Ok i got it fixed. Never set the cpu to run at startup, if you change the thermald.confiq. It resulted in bootlooping for me.

For those that have the beta version of the s2w kernel, how is the battery life? Any wake locks?

Running this kernel with 1.7 oc, GPU oc. Cleanrom V fresh install. Experiencing artifacts on pictures throughout the web and tons of weird graphical glitches. Other than that I noticed a couple phone restarts today. Great kernel so far though! Blazing fast

I get that also with no oc on this kernel, I can run cleankernel and rohans and no weird stuff happens even overclocked so I dunno, I just figured it was my phone. Even tried to raise the undervolt to normal and I still get it. It's strange to say the least.

Must be voltages then. Hopefully 4.0 will fix that.
