I have installed the Kindle HD drivers, I downloaded QemuRoot, Root_With_Restore, adt bundle and also found Google USB Drivers.
After installing the drivers, my computer recognizes the Kindle like it should. I then tried QemuRoot and then tried Root_With_Restore. See below the screen shots of what I got for this attempt. I then tried to install adt bundle. I clicked the SDK Manager and all I get is a flash on the screen then nothing.
Yes I Enabled ADB and even tried the "Allow installation of applications" under the Device tab. Still nothing. What else should i try?
I'm using apex and I use Amazon home icon to load stock launcher. I can also go directly to my ebooks. No need for Amazon kindle app...
By the way blackle works great as default search.

Ok.. Tried again. Restore and Root. Still no change.. The pic you see is what I have on the screen again.
How do I install adt? I am supposed to click SDK Manager, right? If so, all I got was a flash on the screen then nothing.

Ok.. Got something going on.. Now this is the screen I get with Root with Restore. So far, its just been sitting there for about 20 min doing nothing..
Thanks for the replyThis is weird root should not do that to your kindle....try to factory restore your kindle and try to log in. I will be checking every few hours for your feedback so your brother can have a wonderfull Christmas gift

I did a factory reset and still got the same error. "Your Kindle was not registered due to a server error"
I also did a new registration under a different email address and still received the same error.
Before I rooted it
right when i took it out the box and connected it to my home internet it automatically updated to 10.2.4
Ok so go to the SuperSU app and unroot the device and see if it works
Settings---> Full Unroot
Reboot kindle and try to log on
Update
I am so screwed smh
I called Kindle Customer Support and they said the serial number for the device has been reported Lost/Stolen
I bought the Kindle off Craiglist for $125. It was sealed and everything.
So now im basically stuck with a Blacklisted Kindle and what irks me the most is that
I don't care about using the Amazon Store. I want Google Play
How can I install any apks without having a file manager? That really sucks!!! You can always download and install the blackmarket .apk, which has all the apps, games, etc that the play store has and they're all free, regardless of what they cost in playstore.....if you don't care about that.
Thanks!Easy...just Google it and download straight to your kindle. Your kindle doesn't need to be rooted; mine isn't....it downloads right from the kindle browser and installs no problem. If its easier for you, pm me your email and I can send it to you...its a rather small file
Thanks!
I had no clue about that apk
i hope to see a ROM for this soon
but with the apk I installed I am very happy for now and my brother who is getting this for a gift will be too
I also bought my lil sister a Kindle too but that one is a 1st generation. Rooted and installed the new jellybean ROM on it and
hers is awesome. No issues at all. bought that one used off craiglist for $95.00

I can confirm this works awesome, had the problem with adb but after installing the correct drivers everything looks good.
Only problem is gmail fc every time I open it. Any workaround is appreciated for gmail because don't want to use Amazon email app.
