Exclamation [Q] Desire HD Stuck in boot loader after getting damp

Hi guys, Got an issue with my Desire HD flashed with Cyanogenmod 7.0.2

In those freaky thunderstorms in the UK we had yesterday my phone got somewhat damp with no way to keep it dry in my pocket , and has since been acting strange and now refuses to boot at all.

Yesterday it all was working fine for texting / music playing but today when I turn it on it slips into bootloader and I cannot use the volume or power buttons to activate the reload / fastboot selection.

The volume buttons wont move the selection, and the power button wont select it,

I have tried booting without my SD card in, without the SIM card in and with both removed, and the only way I can turn it off is by battery pull.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get around this? Phone is kinda my lifeline and being a student cant particularly afford a new one right now

Thanks for any help

Use a hair drier to dry it up with the battery and sim covers off...but I would take it to service. If got damp then u might start experiencing issues in the near future.

After you knew it got damp, you should have shut the phone down and let it dry for at least 2 days. Anyways, as suggested by the previous post, use a hair dryer with all the covers off and keep the phone as it is for a couple of days. And then you can start the phone and see if you are having any issues.

Even if you take it to service, if your phone is still under warranty, you'll be charged the fees for the repair.

Get a ZipLoc bag, fill it with UNCOOKED, DRY rice, chuck the phone in for a day or two and it should work. If not return it to HTC or network and say you don't know what happened. I find it strange that it goes straight to bootloader and not boot the ROM.

Remove the battery and keep it off for tow days and use the hair dryer - not in hot mode- then try to turn it on.

I hope it will be fine.
