Info 2 RAZR i: Rooting without voiding Warranty

Is this possible? What if you root and IF you need to get the phone serviced, you click restore factory settings? Will it leave any traces of previous root? Is there any 'restore phone software' for Motorola phones?

Motorola is notified when you root. Even if you unroot they still know you rooted it.

Rooting without voiding warranty is not possible in many countries.
