[Q] Incremental Backup? Adb sync? Pull? Options?
For a few years now I've simply done a folder sync with something like rsync or synctoy to backup my SD card...
Since I can no longer mount/map my /sdcard these solutions are no longer functional.
I don't want to have to adb pull /sdcard/ /some/folder all the time cause it pulls EVERYTHING. With 15GB sitting there it takes quite a while...
For my sanity I need the ability to run an incremental backup that will only copy over what I've added/modified.
Can adb sync do this? Looks designed to go computer > phone... Which is opposite of what I want
adb sync [ <directory> ] - copy host->device only if changed
(-l means list but don't copy)
(see 'adb help all')
but adb sync implies that -p can be used to specify a path... is this a file system path on the phone or something else?
$ adb sync
adb: Product directory not specified; use -p or define ANDROID_PRODUCT_OUT
Anyone got any suggestions without suggesting backing up to a cloud service? I'm prohibited by my employer from keeping some of this data in the cloud. Besides... I don't wanna **** up my dropbox with a phone backup
