Gummy ROM for the Galaxy S III
Way back in the early days of the Droid X, developers discovered that Motorola locked up the bootloader. No custom kernels, no AOSP ROMs... it was like a wasteland. While, eventually, developers found a way around it using kexec (sacrificing battery life and other major issues at times), ROMs like Tranquility and Liberty lit the way for the weary flashers. In fact, Liberty ROM was my daily driver for over a year.
The same developer did something called Gummy. It was very stable on both my Droid X and my secondhand-purchased Droid 2. (Yeah, I know, right?) The amount of tweaks and the high level of stability was unprecedented at the time. This developer had nailed it.
Two and a half years later, I happened to find on a random Google search, totally out of curiosity, that kejar31 finally boarded the spaceship back to the Galaxy, and has begun generating nightlies of this ROM. I'm about to install it and give it a spin. I have high expectations.
