Im not sure why but twrp says that for me as well. Like you said everything still works tho. Nothing really needs to access the preload partition while in recovery which is why it doesn't really affect anything. And for the count to reset and restore normal/official status, yes one of my recoveries must be used. Otherwise the count reset will have no effect. Trust me I'm no fan of the extra step myself but Samsung has the partition where the flash count is hidden by default. My recoveries are the only ones that can access itOk. I will give it another try. Thank you!

Sorry, just one more question. I have twrp 2.3.3.1. Do I have to use your twrp? After doing the restore, everytime I use twrp either your version or mine it says "E: Unable to mount '/preload' on any operation be it wipe restore etc. Do you knbow what this is? Everything still works, it just gives that message after any twrp operation now.

Uploaded new version of TWRP with no preload mount error and an option to wipe /carrier in the wipe settings. New restore zip without auto carrier wipe uploading soon...
Not so much an update but an additional version that will not automatically wipe carrier. Not a bad idea though. Think Ill just have to do that
Thanks billard412! What is the no carrier version used for just out of curiousity?
since the chameleon fc error was caused by lk8, I imagine there are people who never flashed lk8 and dont need to wipe it. Plus, figure it doesnt need auto wiped if you can do it on demand, which is now possible even in TWRP with my new version
I'm working on it. Having an issue with breaking it down to edit it. Should be up soon tho
So let me see if I got this right...Im rolling back from LK8 to LJC so I do my standards wipes flash modified twrp with carrier wipe reboot twrp then flash the LJC stock counter reset then flash the keep root zip then boot into system and Ill be rooted correct? Now does this include the modem or do I need to flash it? Thanks guys!
I was able to activate and update prl n profile but was still getting the chameleon force close if /carrier wasn't wiped before the flash. Seeing as how twrp doesn't have that option and most people prefer it over cwm, I am currently uploading a new version which will wipe the carrier partition too. With carrier wiped, coming back from lk8 was flawlessThanks for making this convenient return-to-stock zip and counter reset.
Just to verify, does your zip correct the problem with the carrier partition when reverting back to LJC after updating to LK8?
Same here

So I'm on MC2 stock unrooted, used Billards fix. Should I take the OTA to 4.3 then root and wait for rooted 4.4.2? I feel unnerved by taking 4.4.2 OTA and not be able to obtain root. Any thoughts?
Thank you
Charles
