Must be some sort of bug.
Do this :
1. Backup all data of your SD Card.
2. Format SD Card from your phone by going to "Settings -> Storage"
3. After formatting has been done, go to CWM Recovery (better if you use CWM 5+ which came with Cyanogen Mod 7.)
4. Now select the option to Partition SD Card from Advanced menu.
You will be done then.
You will have 2 successful partitions.
I prefer CWM cause when I partitioned using my PC, I too was unable to mount the SD Card to my PC
you can't mount it because windows can't recognize ext filesystems...
but if you mount ur sdcard from phone after formating. in phone like D@rekills said ...you can easily partition it with minitool wizard...after i partitioned sdcard from cwm i wasn't able to mount sdcard to pc anymore!...so never again
oh...and...yeah...i had to use my retired nokia 5320xm to format sdcard to fat32 partition so windows was able to recognize it..and i managed this way too...:..i removed sdcard from lappy and uninstalled usb mass storage driver from win xp...and reboot and then i pushed in sdcard and windows installed drivers by auto...and then it worked
