Just a two minute guide on how to make your own softkeys on your device.
I am going to be using a free but indispensable app called photo Editor (dev.macgyver). You can use Photoshop/Gimp or any other image editing software what supports the PNG image format.
First we need to open a new image with a size between 96/96 ,and for the higher resolution devices 144/144. Set it with a transparent background, hex#00000000.
Were going to add a shape. So pick text/image
Pick a shape
And apply
Using effect, find overlay. We're going to cut a shape with a transparent shape.
You can keep on cutting out shapes with the overlay tool to taste.
Add another shape if you wish.
For the example I've added a triangle for the pointy bit of the back key.
You can use zoom to get into the detail of the image, and move the triangle to again taste.
Now, if your happy hit save. But we're going to save as PNG. This is the most important step. Jpeg just dosnt support transparency. So remember to save as PNG.
Once saved, just import into Softkeyz app and install.
Please note. It's just not shapes you can use to create softkeys with. You can also use other PNG images /fonts ect.
Happy creating.
