I'll be starting a cm10.2 thread shortly.

Thank you so much! I'm running the 7/30 build and honestly outside of a few bugs it's running amazingly great. The bugs are mostly stuff like Titanium Backup not detecting root (which is fixable with the SuperSU zip posted in this thread).

Also FYI the 4.2.2 kernels like Plasma don't work on CM10.2 at least from my experience. I know this is obvious info but I figured I'd mention it in case anyone tries.

How is signal reporting? Any better than on 4.2?

I keep getting the acore phone FCC any idea

Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app

On the August 1st nightly and experiencing two problems.

1) All MMS images come in as black and white. They lose all color. Reverting to TouchWiz fixes this, but all versions of CM10.1 have this issue
2) Volume is incredibly low even though every slider is maxed. No clue how to fix this.

On many AOSP roms, this is a problem. Also could not get 4.3 to boot with 8/1 nightly, failed to flash. /sad panda

I'd have to say for right now 4.2 ROMs are going to be better simply because they are better developed. Especially since we have one working 4.3 ROM at the moment. From my one day of use so far I have had a few sudden out of nowhere drops to 3G which I quickly fixed by toggling in and out of airport mode. Another bug I've found is Bluetooth use to my Motorola S805 headphones will connect but music playback stops after a few seconds. However I can connect and play music fine to my Phillips sound dock. I'll try to get some kind of catlog later tonight on this issue so maybe the devs can figure out the problem.

Query

Since installing the 08.01 build my CPU is pegging at max speed, no matter what kernel or governor I'm choosing. I've been messing around trying to track what could be causing it, but I'm at a loss. Just re-flashed 8.1 and it's still doing it, so even the stock kernel/governor setup is letting it happen. Does anyone have an app or other utility/knowledge of how to find what could be causing the governor to get stuck at max speed while the phone is unlocked, and yet let deep sleep work when it's locked? WakeLock Detector doesn't show anything out of the ordinary, I put CPU Memory Monitor on and it doesn't show anything out of the ordinary either. I wasn't having the issue on any prior builds, or with Beans 20 that I was running before switching.

Kind of at a loss, I've got 4 cores burning at 1.6Ghz whenever I wake the phone up. Any ideas on how to track down what might be happening would be appreciated.

Addition:

Fresh install, nothing installed except OS Monitor and CPU Spy. All four cores pegged at 1600 with the keyboard and Android OS (no location) the only things running. Phone is uncomfortable to hold, has been on for 15 minutes with 15 minutes of 1600. Stock kernel, PegasusQ governor, nothing whatsoever changed except adding my account and those two aforementioned apps.

More:

I may have found it on my own, though it was about the last thing I wanted to have to do. Completely wiped everything including system, now when I load up CPU Spy, it looks like the CPU is running through all of the speeds again and spending some time in them. I suppose something may have gotten stuck when I went from TW to CM, but I thought after wiping caches and data, the ROM install itself wiped system? I'm not sure, but at least I seem to finally be making progress.

People are reporting voice command features not working over Bluetooth. But I'm having trouble using the voice feature overall. It forecloses in Google now when I use it. Is there a fix?

I haven't ran CM in quite some time. Forgot how to enable Dev Options :banghead:

However. 10.2 is running nicely. Amazed how well the first draft is running. Soon as I get the root thing done I'll definitely be doing a video. Nice job guys.

Flashed 10.2, and everything worked great except for some small graphics glitches....one of them being that my Business Calendar Widget was 100% transparent and I couldn't change it. Went back to 10.1 until some of the Visual issues are resolved, other than that....it works. GPS lock was almost instantaneous, sound volume was cool, nothing FC'd.

    CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JB), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
    Code:
    #include
    /*
     * Your warranty is now void.
     *
     * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
     * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
     * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
     * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
     * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
     *
     * Submitting bug reports on nightly builds is the leading
     * cause of male impotence.
     */

    CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

    All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

    Progress is being made. My 10.2 builds are compiling OK now. I can flash and boot to the homescreen but anything I try to launch causes a soft reboot.
    Mine do the same and I have no cell signal. I think I messed up loading the props. Let me know if you make any progress or maybe slickrick will shine some light on the subject
    Pick these 4 commits and you should be good.

    Thank you sbrissen for developing for this awesome device and all of our donators who made it possible! None of this would have happened without you guys :)

    You will lose S Pen and other Touchwiz functionality if you flash this but here is how you can get some of that functionality back!
    1. S Pen works (try out the app Papyrus as a replacement to S Note, Papyrus does utilize the S Pen button as well).
    2. Air View works (Go to settings, Language & input, check "Show icon when using stylus".
    3. The S Pen button works (Go to settings, Language & input, Stylus gestures, those all use the s pen button).
    4. Pop up browser = OverSkreen from the Google Play Store.
    5. I use the 4.2 Camera on Touchwiz anyway. There are plenty of good camera apps in the market if you want more features.
    6. Multiwindow. There is no alternative, dont ask.
    And here's some alternatives to Touchwiz apps (PM me if you want me to add something!)
    Code:
    [URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.myboyfriendisageek.stickit"]Stick it! (Pop-up Player)[/URL]
    [URL="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clov4r.android.nil&hl=en"]MoboPlayer[/URL]- It's another very capable, free video player with floating player functionality. Plus its free!

    DO NOT USE 20121011 GAPPS OR YOU WILL HAVE ISSUES, USE 20121212 GAPPS.

    If you want to downgrade back to a 4.1.x ROM, flash the restore-sdcard-after-downgrade.zip attached below AFTER flashing back to 4.1.x ROM. Your storage situation will be how it was pre-CM10.1 flash. Thanks to madmack for the file.

    Still working on BT and gps.

    and still looking for logs of apps where the mic isn't working.

    I'll be starting a cm10.2 thread shortly. For anyone thinking of flashing back to 10.1, not going to happen unless you do a clean install so backup first! A couple databases were updated and cannot be reverted.
