Hello!

I got the Sense UI running on my Polaris!

I downloaded the port that worked for Kaiser her: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=547264 (If this build doesn't work, try the Vogue build: http://code.google.com/p/vogue-hero/downloads/list. Download the Zen-Hero zip file.)
And replaced the default.txt with an old one for Polaris which i made a few changes to. Here is the default.txt i use:

set RAMSIZE 0x08000000
set MTYPE 1723
set KERNEL zImage
set initrd initrd.gz
set cmdline "board-htcpolaris.panel_type=1 ppp.nostart=0 pm.sleep_mode=1 mddi.width=320 mddi.height=480 lcd.density=160 no_console_suspend board-htcpolaris-battery.battery_capacity=1350 mddi_client_vogue.vsync=0"

08.16.2009: Edited the panel type line, heard some had some problems with it.
PS: First boot takes very long time! (Up to 10 minutes.) Do not abort it!

I only modified the default.txt so I'm not shure everything works. I'm only fourteen years old, and i barely have a clue about what I'm doing, so don't ask me questions about anything related to the other files, I did not touch them. I hope someone with more knowledge than me can provide a package with all the files and optimize it for the HTC Polaris.

Correct, Wifi does not work at the moment.

Pretty much everything...

Remember all you have to do after booting Android is to reboot your phone and you'll be back in Windows Mobile.

The android working on for over a year and still not resolved with wlan and camera.se sees a major problem.can not solve?

doesn't work for me ... I can't unlock SIM card ... Always telling bad code 3 tries left ...

Buh

Sorry. Normal. This is a problem with current version that doesn't support pin code

I get stuck in a contious loop between the Hero and HTC splash screen, anyone else get this or have any idea on how to fix this?

I've deleted all previous andriod files (which used to work fine)

Look at the default.txt posted in the first post. You have to set the resolution to 480x320 and lcd.density=160 . This is posted several times!

Very funnny!
But major problem for me : I can't get my contacts from SIM card.

EDIT : and after a reboot under win mobile, if I want to launch it again it seems to boot correctly but I have a squizzy screen during load and when it come back from sleeping mode I only see the console. The graphic mode seemed to be in the background...

Sorry but thats what I've set it to

EDIT: Just check and I had the no_console_suspend line twice, now working

Well just to be sure I downloaded this bundle http://kaiser-hero.googlecode.com/files/kaiser-hero-130809-1.zip

I must say it works well for me, also managed to download a gps soft from Market but does not pickup a signal

maybe life02 can patch this kernel to have like what is mentioned in the wiki

the latest build have improvement in speed, but sometimes still laggy especially when the sense ui is running. i do face a couple of problems too with this hero build. in my opinion, it is still not good for daily use yet.

Problem in Hero build

here are some of the problems i'm facing in the zen hero build:
1. sometimes it become laggy but sometimes become very fast,especially running sense ui.
2. i have contacts sync with google. but when someone calls in, only caller's number is appearing, but not the name, although the caller is in my contact list.
3. when send out sms, it returned with status saying that sms failed to send out, but the receipient actually received the sms.
4. it is very hard to wake up from speep mode..... need to press a couple of buttons to wake it up.
