This makes sense since UI elements are still active when the unit "crashes". For example, if the unit freezes when a busy wheel is spinning, it will continue to spin even though no further touch input is registered or application contents are updated.
Since this seems to happen mostly to Nexus 10s (I haven't been following this with other devices, so I could be wrong), I wonder if it's the Mali T-604 drivers that are at fault. It's a brand new GPU architecture after all.
