*with R13 certain builds of google apps will cause a no boot situation if you wipe /data and install the rom and gapps together before booting android. Setup wizard craps out and never gives you a usable system. TO FIX: wipe data and cache, install rom, then boot to android BEFORE flashing gapps. from android reboot to recovery and install gapps and you'll be golden.

Stock rom compatible kernel with taktik features and improvements
taktiK Kernel and module installer for stock based roms (version2): http://jellytime.googlecode.com/files/taktiK_Kernel_for_Stock_v2.zip

Current builds use selinux and require the latest version of cwm or twrp (linked below) to install.

A few things I noticed:

- External micro SD detects in storage including size of card, freespace, etc but won't let me do anything beyond that. Titanium Backup won't detect the card at all. I can write files to it on Windows 7 but it won't let me read files from it.

- Same sound issue as on the 4.3 ROMs (up pitch audio). Tested with YouTube.

- Other stuff outside of camera and NFC seem to work just fine from testing.

Clean flash using the latest CWM for the Sero 7 Pro.

Downloading as we speak. I Don't use the camera or nfc much right now anyway so i'll give it a run. I admire all of the work that's been done with this. I wish I had the time to learn all the intricacies and inner workings to be able to contribute.

For some reason when I go to install, I get stuck in a boot loop. I'll mess with it when I get home and see. Trying to do this while at work.

I was only able to test for 5 min this morning but here's what I noticed:

1. HDMI is broken as it was in jellytime, all output is forced portrait.

2. When using the tablet in landscape the text of the icons on the home screen are cut off. Probably an alignment issue.

Wow, this is so much better than the previous build. You deserve a beer.
I don't use NFC or camera that much. So this is almost ready as my daily driver. Could you make fixing the SD card issue your next target?
Thanks.

About to test drive this as my first rom for my brand new s7p. Will report back if I have any issues that haven't been mentioned yet.

ETA: Nvm, can't figure out how to mount the sdcard to throw those zips on it. My buddy I bought this from rooted it for me so it's running CWM 6something already. Can't mount sd from recovery, can't paste files when connected normally as I get some sort of error about the device being disconnected.

I am really liking the fact that I can run 4.4 on this tablet. One bug I have run into however is that I can't get .mp3 files to play from memory using Apollo or Google music player. When I try to play a song the system freezes.

I'm not complaining though! Just wanted to report a bug.

    I've posted a build of AOSP 4.4.2 here: http://e-vertise.com/sero7pro/sero7pro-aosp442-dopa-v0.zip

I'm posting this here rather than starting a new thread because I consider this a reference build rather than a "product". Perhaps it can be used to identify which problems are inherent to any KitKat ROM built using Hisense's proprietary files and which are caused by attempts at customization.

This build was developed semi-independently and is as vanilla as possible:
    * the kernel is the same code as used by DoPa v2.0, just configured for SELinux, and is not overclocked
    * all files not created by the AOSP build process were taken from the Hisense 6.02.20 build with minimal changes
    * configuration files and original code needed to build the ROM were copied from TakTik and Grouper, then pruned back and cleaned up to remove irrelevancies
    * incompatibilities between KitKat and Hisense's blobs were resolved as simply as possible, with no attempt to "improve" things

There are still a few bugs:
    * SELinux runs in permissive mode because I haven't bothered to fix whatever is wrong
    * trying to use the sound effects in the stock music player kills audio and may require a reboot to restore it.
Beyond these, everything I've tested works (A2DP, charger, WiFi, V4A etc). I don't have any NFC devices, don't use anything covered by DRM (including NetFlix), and never take the tablet anywhere there are multiple routers with the same SSID, so I don't know if these work properly.

To make the ROM more usable, I've included 3-15_GApps_Standard_4.4.2, SuperSU, Xposed, GravityBox, and my Phab7. If you install it, you will have to do a full wipe (i.e. '/cache' and '/data & /data/media').

Please report any problems so we can see if the other ROMs are being built on a faulty foundation.

P.S. you can find my device and vendor trees at https://github.com/dolorespark

I had the same issue with TakTik R12 - Wifi wouldn't work. Flashing Dave's wifi fix corrected the issue. ROM seems stable, but then again I've only been using it for an hour or so.

I'm uploading release 13 now that should fix all the wifi problems R12 has

    *OP updated r13 available now
